Hi all,

I'm 40+3 with my first baby and have been on tenterhooks for the last 3 weeks just waiting and analysing every pain or different feeling I get!
I've just had to get out of bed because I have nagging pain like period pain really low in my bump. I've been getting huge amounts of BH, (one every 2-3 minutes at my midwife appointment on Tues) but have had no pain with them so far.
Could this be labour? or do I need to wait until the pain is really bad before timing it. People just tend to say oh you definitely know when its labour. I'm just not sure what to do, or should I kick my feet up have a raspberry leaf tea and do nothing?
thanks

sounds like it could be the start of something to me .. I would just carry on as you were as you will know soon enough

walking up and down stairs was a good one for me

I can't remember about the timings.. why don't you do it anyway for something to do

good luck

whomovedmychocolate · 22/05/2009 04:34

I suggest a cup of tea, some toast if you can manage it and go back to bed. If it's bad enough to keep you up, it may well be labour. Do stuff to take your mind off it. When you can't get your mind of it, then it's time to start timing. Good luck

it was labour!!

Harvey Graeme Stockdale was born at 2am this morning 9lb 7!!

He inhaled some muconium in the womb so unfortunately was whipped away to scbu quickly and is on oxygen but doing great. They have said he may be down with us tomorrow.

any news from you Shell?

I've had no sleep for nearly 2 days but am buzzing, I'm so proud.

I have to say, patientline keypads are awful to use!!

Shell, the pains were 3 mins apart from start to finish for me, i was still hoping it wasn't a false alarm on the way to the labour ward

I am excited just hoping everything kicks off naturally before having to be prodded and poked LOL xxx

jstock · 26/05/2009 07:25

lol.....Queenrollo, just re read the thread I thought your name was waves! duh.

Harvey came down from neonatal ward yesterday and spent last night with me, he fed every hour so Im tired but still buzziing.

I can't believe the emotions I am feeling, the mummy part feels so natural, you know the caring for, cleaning, feeding etc but the feeling get when I stare at him (which I have all night!) is like .....well like nothing I can describe.

The two other women on this ward must be shattered too as their babies seem to have been tag team wailing all night. bless em!

Jstock checks to see if shell is still ok ( well i actually check to see if she's had baba yet but know the feeling you get when asked it for the 100th time daily after your due date).
