Anyone good with midwife/medical jargon?

Am 16wks pregnant and had second app with midwife today. Everything seemed fine (although it took her ages to find the heart beat which scared me and it was very faint when she did find it!). I read my notes afterwards and she had written "OAP-soft fetal parts felt". Anyone know what the OAP stands for?

OAP - On Abdominal Palpation
Soft fetal Parts - body/arms/legs
16 weeks often hard to hear heartbeat. lots of room for babe to whizz around and away from doppler noise.

are you sure it says OAP?

Thanks ProstetnicVogonJeltz, that makes sense. My husband and I were coming up with all sorts of weird and wonderful explanations!

hehe you aren't pregnant with an old age pensioner then. phew!

You did well to hear the heartbeat tbh - don't worry! Sounds like good news all round

If you were further along OAP stands for 'occiput anterior presentation' - but at 16 wks it's 'on abdominal palp'.

at old age pensioner!
