I think you can use the canesten cream and/or pessary. Ask the pharmacist.

Just go and ask for Clotrimazole cream 3 percent and if they won't give it to you go to the shelf and get the althlete's foot clotrimazole which is 1 percent but better than nothing. You can still use that on your fanjo.

How annoying!! Can you see your midwife? She may be able to prescribe something for you.

Sure you can pick it up in Tesco or something? Hopefully someone will be along in a bit with definite info - I had it when I was pregnant, but that was almost 2 years ago now!

Sheeta · 21/05/2009 09:19

you could always get some natural yoghurt and use that

I used cream and pessary when I was pg with DS2 (had awful thrush) - if you can get someone to get it for you it'll be fine, just don't use the applicator for the pessary.

cluckyagain · 21/05/2009 09:24

You can use the clotrimazole 2% (and in all honesty the pessary too!) external cream and they should sell that to you. If they won't I would go elsewhere and buy it for your DH (honest gov) Use the pessary after seeing the GP (don;t know what the contraindicatiions are in pg) There is always live natural yog in the meantime but not vastly helpful as you may not even be able to reach there!!!

You have my every sympathy - I remember having it raging at 39+6 and having a rather heated discussion with a very brave pharmacist who tried to explain to me how it could bring on MC......I rather lost it at that point!

I am 19 weeks preg and have just been prescribed canesten cream and pessary for thrush. I get really bad thrush when preg and everytime have been given cream and pessary, so go to the chemist and pick one up, as mentioned above if they wont sell you one go elsewhere. Hope you get it cleared up soon.
