Hi, I'm 17 wks pg with DC2 and haven't felt it move yet - is this normal?

I am a terrbile paranoid worrier and worried all the way through my 1st pg until DS started moving at about 22 wks, but everyone keeps telling me it's so much earlier with the 2nd and now I'm stressing there is something wrong.

I heard the HB last week but I'm still worried .

This is my 2nd pregnancy and with the first one I am sure I started feeling movements at around 18 wks. I am now 22 wks pregnant and I have been feeling the baby move only for the last 2 weeks. I mentioned it to my consultant when I went for a check up at 18 wks and he told me that it is absolutely normal and that every pregnancy is different and to stop worring about it! I know it is difficult, but try not to worry... i drove myself mad thinking there was something wrong and not the baby doesn't stop moving!

Try not to worry. With my first child I didn't feel any movements until 22 weeks and then with my second it was about 20 weeks. If you heard the hearbeat last week I am sure baby is fit and well. Maybe some people are less sensitive to feeling the movement than others.

Good luck

If it's any consolation my first was so active he drove me mad from about 14 weeks. DS2 on the other hand hardly moved at all and I kept thinking he must have died. They're 15 and 13 now and ds2 is the madly active one!

Thank you . I am trying really hard not to worry but know I didn't relax until after DS started moving and I really hoped that this one would move earlier (I know I still have a few weeks to go before 22 wks ).

I think it doesn't help when people ask if you can feel movement yet, you say no and they look all surprised and then say "oh I could feel DC2 at 4 weeks" . (Yes, I am exaggerating but you know what I mean!)

Fingers crossed we'll hear the HB again tomorrow but I know I won't sleep tonight .
