Am I eating enough!?

I am just over 5 weeks pregnant and haven't had any morning sickness yet.

Have started eating breakfast (never really did before) usually Shreddies, Wheatabix or Special K and drinking milk. Am also eating 3 - 4 pieces of fruit a day.

All good.

but for lunches I have been having Salad (Tomato, cucumber, baby spinach etc), some ham and some bread or ryvita or a pitta bread with salad and Humous. I've not been eating huge slabs of meat and 2 veg or anything like that and it just seems like not very much.

Evening meal is usually something meaty with potatoes and veg, or pizza/pasta sometimes etc.

I just hear about people getting a HUGE appetite, but I haven't so far.

Am I doing the right things? Am also drinking a couple of litres of water a day and Orange juice...

Sounds absolutely perfect to me!!

My appetite increased in the first 12 weeks, but more because I had to eat to stem the nausea.

It sounds like you're having a really healthy diet and eating the right things so I really wouldn't worry - good on you!!!

You may find in a couple of weeks that your appetite may increase, but if you just increase the quantities of what you're eating, you will still be really healthy - not many people can say the same so well done you!!

Sounds like your doing really well to me. It's not about quantity but the quality of foods you are eating (as long as you are eating regularly which sounds like you are).
Are you taking folic acid?

I think your diet seems very healthy so i wouldn't worry. If you're not hungry, guess your body doesn't need more food.

Was told we only need another 300 calories a day when preg which is prob your breakfast.

I, on the other hand have never had an appetite like this before. I can eat and eat and eat (mostly healthy stuff!)

Don't get me wrong, I am no saint. I had a burger king and then a Pizza last Saturday but on a daily basis I am trying to get a lot of fresh stuff into me, and the odd packet of hula hoops in the afternoon.

I'm not a big bread fan so find it hard to eat loads. Am hoping the breakfasts will make up for that.

I am taking folic acid in the general pregnancy tablet I have - should I suppliment that? I do have other folic acid tablets which I sometimes take and have been taking a pregnancy and conception tablet for the last 16 months while TTC.

Compared to me you are doing well. ALl i had yesterday was melon some pineapple and a nibble of an egg!
