Is it normal to feel my womb this early?

I'm only five weeks but when I cough I can feel my womb being larger, I'm sure with DD I only felt my womb after several months. Is this normal?

I had a caesarean with DD, is this anything to do with it?

Does this mean I'll be showing in another few weeks?

Thanks.

Hmmm.. not too sure about this but what I can say is that I was showing really early! I didn't want to tell anybody at work I was pregnant until I had passed the 12 week stage but it was really obvious and a few people guessed just from my bump!
When I asked midwives if this was normal to show this early she said that some women just do and you'll probably even out later on, and I did, was a normal size at the end
Congratulations!

In theory your uterus doesn't rise out of the pelvis until after 12 weeks - not sure why a previous section would affect this, and it will also get pushed up by a full bladder. When people show earlier it's more likely to be other bits being pushed up by the growing uterus. Not sure that really answers your question but it is completely normal to show earlier with your second (muscles all gone to pot) !

Are you quite slim and physically in good shape ?

My midwife commented on my pronounced uterus, which basically meant because I was skinny she could feel it clearly.

Yes Galava, I am slim and do get a bit of exercise, are you not far gone either?

It's interesting that my uterus doesn't rise out of my pelvis until 12 weeks, I can definitely feel the pressure now and it isn't my bowels playing up.

I didn't get very large in the last pregnancy (only ever looked about 28 weeks pregnant) as I had low fluid and a low birth weight DD so I thought my muscles might have escaped the full stretching. Perhaps I've got a surprise coming!

This is an interesting thread I am 5/6 weeks pg with my 2nd and definately am changing shape. I can also feel things when I cough (sneeze - I have a terrible cold). I guess us slim ladies have less flesh to hide the truth! I didn't have a c-section but definately have shoddy muscles in the bump area

I am 5 weeks pg with my 4th and already have a pronounce "bump", but it is all bloating as the uterus is still only the size of an orange, and still well within the pelvis. When I lay on my tummy it is uncomfortable, and although I know that the uterus is still well within the pelvis, the stretching uterus can already push things out of place. I am definitely needing maternity trousers already due to the discomfort. But bloating and ready to strech uterus' does that in early pregnancy in 2nd or more pregnancies.

I'm slim and petite. Showed early when pg with DS and showed even earlier with this pg, at around 4-5 weeks.
