Am 7 weeks pg and feeling so sorry for myself. I don't have HG, but just queasy all day. It lasted from 6 weeks to 11 weeks with dd, is that average?

Oh dear.... better not say then.

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 18/05/2009 17:31

I didn't have any with ds, but I'm 16 weeks pg now and had it much worse this time. It lasted till about 14 weeks. Sorry, possibly not what you wanted to hear.

I found it helped to eat constantly regularly, and especially to have an earlier evening meal than normal - I would be retching by 8pm if I hadn't eaten by then.

Congrats on your pg

I did wonder if this was a sensible idea. It was different last time, I didn't have a 2yo and could lounge around whining and feeling sorry for myself!

sadly I best not reply either but most second pg are better than first so if your ms stopped at 11 weeks last time it might stop sooner this time. I found sucking mints helped as I was potty training a 3 year old and every time he did a pooh I had to chear say yay good boy while praying my stomach didn't rebel but the mints gave me something to focus on if I had a scent induced feeling.

Pinkjenny · 18/05/2009 17:35

The dry retching is delightful. And to think, I was worrying and googling 'lack of morning sickness' ten days ago!

pink I did that as my morning sickness started straight away on ds but this pg didn't start till 6 weeks so I was instead of counting blessing trying to discover what was wrong and why had I not got m.s. We are never happy are we.

Pinkjenny · 18/05/2009 17:41

Tell me about it.

Ok well since you asked...

DS nausea til 17 weeks then back again for last 6 weeks.

This current one (a girl!) is gradually fading at 27 weeks but I think I will feel dodgy til the end.

Sorry!

purepurple · 18/05/2009 17:44

both of mine lasted well into the fifth month, and the doctor put me on travel sickness tablets which knocked me out

Picante · 18/05/2009 17:46

I think even if it's pretty awful it still has a peak and gets better after that - for both mine it was around 8-9 weeks.

EffieGadsby · 18/05/2009 17:48

Pinkjenny, I have nothing helpful to add on morning sickness I'm afraid, as I'm only 9 weeks myself, but I was wondering if you managed to track down rock at Morrisons? I've had a watch on that thread a I need some and am not sure where to get it as am many, many miles from the seaside. Sorry for the off-topicness, but this is urgent!

Stayingsunnygirl · 18/05/2009 17:51

My morning sickness stopped when I gave birth. In the last few weeks of each pregnancy, I added raging heartburn - just for some variety.

Sorry.

Pinkjenny · 18/05/2009 17:52

Ha ha, no still not found any rock! Will have to go to Southport at the weekend. If I go, I'll get you some and post it to you.

I'm so sorry I asked.

Seven months with the first baby, when it was replaced by severe breathlessness.

When I gave birth with the second baby. Sorry!

EffieGadsby · 18/05/2009 18:01

Ah, well. I'm in the inner suburbs of London myself, so later this week I'll go and trawl the gift shops of the tourist attractions until I find it! Morrisons would have been so much easier though, so I thought I'd ask.

Stayingsunnygirl · 18/05/2009 18:56
  • I knew we had a lot in common!

Pinkjenny - my experience isn't the norm - hopefully your morning sickness will settle in a month or so - I'll keep my fingers crossed!

funtimewincies · 18/05/2009 19:22

Finally lifted this week at 13 weeks.

Let cake commence !

LeeWT · 20/05/2009 19:32

i forgot about the raging heartburn. oh thats something to look forward to!

essexgirl31 · 20/05/2009 19:42

For my DS it stopped at 24 weeks.
For this one I am currently still feeling and being sick everyday. I'm 38+2.
Don't think this is the norm though.
Hope it doesn't last to long for you

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 20/05/2009 19:45

12 weeks with ds1, 14 weeks with ds2
