Hi
I will be travelling by plane (not long-haul, just a 2 hour flight) with my baby 6-8 weeks after giving birth. The idea of air travel with a newborn seems very complicated so I'd appreciate any tips any mums have on this?
I.e. what's handy to bring on the plane in hand luggage, what can be checked through etc...

I assumed before that I would have to carry the car seat onto the plane with me as well as the wheel the pram to the gate but I heard you can check it in - is this considered part of baby's check-in luggage? Do they get an allowance? Also if I get a taxi to the airport, do taxi companies lend car seats or do i have to bring my own? if they loan them, it may save me bringing one anyway...
Thanks
