Hi I am almost embaressed asking this but does anyone know where you can get good well fitting plus size maternity jeans and trousers

I was an 18 - 20 on bottom before pregnant and defo a size 20 on bottom now. I always end up in M&S jeans but have bought both styles of their maternity jeans and they are decidedly crap!! the under bump ones don't reach up enough to stay on and the over the bump ones have no kind of grip on them either!
I wore a pair to work today and it was very depressing thinking I'll never find a pair of jeans/trousers to fit while desperatly pulling these ones up all day to try and save some dignity until at least I give birth!! .... then I had to run for bus... lucky I had a long coat on is all I can say!!

thanks in advance

Hiya

Next have a good range with a wide variety or styles and sizes. So do Dorothy Perkins. With the under bump ones, I've found the ones with the little bit of elastic on each side are better than the ones that have elastic all the way around the waste. They stay up better and you dont have to keep hitchin them up every 5 minutes.

I had some great jeans from Dorothy Perkins last time around (they go up to a 22), Also Next maternity stuff fits nicely (most stuff up to a 20, some up to 22)...

I also find Ebay good for buying maternity wear - I figure it's unlikely to have been worn much, and resent paying £30+ for stuff I'll only wear for a few months at best!

Would highly recommend Next over bump jeans and they go upto at least a 20.

i bought a good pair of trousers from dorothy perkins last week - smart black ones for the office, think they're described as 'naples trousers'(??) on the website. they're over bump but have an elasticated bit around the top that's adjustable with buttons. wore them out last night and they were comfy and stayed put.

also bought a pair of over bump jeans from dp and they're awful - keep falling down! and now the elasticated bit is coming away from the denim after 2 wears so looks like i'm taking them back for a refund anyway ...

Evans also do a maternity wear range, mainly online, though some bigger stores do have them in stock.

Please dont buy any from Simply Be I paid £36 for a pair of combats which have no elastic to hold them up and their tops are crap to, I am a size 20 and bought the lightweight jeans from Next and a pair of yoga type trousers from M&S mat range, both of which where £20. I have also just ordered a bump band as I will make those combats stay up if it kills me.
If it makes you feel better I wore a pair of boy shorts with the Simply combats and by the time I had walked from shop to car park my knickers where almost at my knees, not a pretty sight.

Im interested in this, think I got some from next and dp last time. I'm having trouble as my tummy is already big and wobbly lol. I tried some on last week (am 15 weeks pg) and it was a disaster, under bump ones made a nice flab shelf effect and over bump ones let the belly roam free and I already looked about 38 weeks. Think I'm gonna have to buy some normal jeans and try again with maternity when I have a solid bump, didn't have this problem last 2 times .

H&M had some ok things, though trousers were small fitting.

Fun Mum do great jeans up to a size 22. They have a jersey panel to go over the bump and a fake button and fly lower down like normal jeans. I have tried several pairs of jeans in the past few weeks and these were definitely the best in terms of being really, really comfy and ever so, ever so flattering.

They are reduced to £39 on the fun mum site and are worth every penny.

I'm a size 16- 18 by the way and ordered a size 16 and they look lovely.

thanks everyone again. I will have a look at fun mum.

Does anyone else have the same problem with the Next website? - when ever I try to look at maternity page - it says it is showing maternity items but the pictures of the clothes are all flat stomached models and no where in the description does it say that the item that you are looking at is a maternity item... seems to be a glitch maybe? anyone else?

evans seem to have stopped doing maternity all together!!

NO! It is hard I'm afraid to find stuff.

I did get some size 18 mat jeans from mothercare that I had to turn up as they only did a regular and I am a shorty. I'm 33 wks now and haven't been able to wear them for about 4 wks now.

I found some great leggings from DP's maternity and got a size 20. They come right up over my bump and I am living in them. Went back and got another pair so I am living in the two pairs and an enormous pair of maternity PJ's pants.

Thank god I've only got 6 wks or so to go!

Good luck

I've got 2 pairs of maty jeans now - next and a pair from Debenhams. The next pair are useless - just won't stay up at all. I thought the debenhams ones were better - but on second day of waering them they kept falling down too - much to hte entertainment of DD95. So - eill they start staying up as bump gets bigger (am 18 weeks)? Or am I destined to having to walk around desperately trying to keep them uP??
