I work in a school. I've had a few days off here and there during pregnancy (I'm seven months) for various reasons, none of them un-justified.
Anyway - came in today after being absent yesterday (horrible stomach pains - called midwife who suggested stretching ligaments. I could barely stand up straight, it was so uncomfortable) and said 'hello' to business manager (he deals with absences)who proceeded to ask me how long 'these aches and pains' lasted for. It was on the tip of my tongue to say 'when the baby comes shooting out from between my legs'. He then went on to say he couldn't remember his wife having so many ailments during her pregnancy.
All said with a smile, but maybe my sense of guilt has warped into paranoia, and I was convinced he was having a veiled 'go'.
He's put me in such a bad mood, and I'm now worried that he thinks I'm some sort of skiving shirker.
