I know this is probably a really dumb question so sorry but I just need any input if anyone has gone through anything similar....
I went into hospital 3 weeks ago with pain in my side, so they scanned me to rule out ectopic - first pregnancy I estimated at 6 wks, their scan said I would be just 5 weeks so they rebooked me in a week to listen for a heartbeat.
I went in last week and they measured me at 13mm Gestational sac & 1.7mm yolk sac and said we were a bit more behind where we thought and it was more likely I was 5 weeks again - still no heartbeat so booked me in for 5 days later (today).
I went this morning and she (the lady who did the scan) advised there has been no growth since my last scan 5 days ago so she would normally tell me at this stage that the pregnancy was not continuing - but she couldn't tell me that today as there was a tiny pulsating on screen right where the heartbeat would be (there was another one about 1cm away from it too) so she said she has to book me in for the following week to rule that out as a heartbeat before declaring it as an "official" miscarriage. She said in her experience she was almost certain it wasn't a heartbeat but more likely to be a blood vessel.
I have had no bleeds at all - just that initial pain 3 weeks ago which they put down to a UTI.
I have taken this as the worst news as she said she was 99% sure this was a miscarriage - but when you have no definite answer.....
