Hormones in last weeks

I am 36 weeks and sooo irritable and hormonal

I wasn't like this with my first pregnancy. Generally I have kept well but just in the last week I have begun to feel exhausted. I cry at anything, take everything everyone says the wrong way and snap at DS and DH.

I was feeling so happy, chilled and positive about this pregnancy but today I feel a little scared of birth and a newborn

Please tell me it is normal to have this sudden change in emotions!

Hello ladies, just wanted to say Hi and to sympathise with the hormonal feelings.

My DD is 5 and it feels like a hundred years since I did this last.

Chin up gals x

Hi swotty your little one sounds adorable! bless her heart. My DD is just over 2 and it a real mummies girl, which is really hard as i am worried about not giving her the support when i need to (i.e. if i have to have a Csection etc) she's great with daddy but if she has a choice it's mummy all the way (poor daddy!)

dawn your poor Ddog sounds like she's having a tough time too bless her! poor you having such a strict birth plan, still you could ask for a mobile montir maybe to help you stay on your feet for a while? Have you been trying any breathing techniques? i have learned some through yoga and they really helped first time. Also if it's ends in a csection, trust me it's not all that bad, but my biggest tip would be to get up and on your feet asap - the MW's push you anyway and although it's not nice the sooner you do it the sooner you recover, and my scar is tiny now and hasn't affected me in anyway - so either way don't worry xx

Thanks for the support staylucky xxx

Heeby, to prepare for VBAC - and to relax at end of day - i've been listening to natal hypnotherpay CD. It's specifically for VBaC although it's not really mentioned that much. A Mnetter suggested it. I really like it but often fall asleep.

Roseability - did you have a c-sec 1st time too then?

Have been strangely calm and collected today. Hope it lasts for the rest of this pregnancy, but doubt it somehow...

Hi all, i'm the sae as you wow i feel strangely relaxed today, and DH is out so i've had to do the whole bedtime routine on my own - which actually went really well, bless her for being so sweet to bumpy mummy.

Yes i'd thought about that natal hyp CD, i have read a lot of mnetters recommending it so will buy one for sure, i also have a number of a hypnotherapist so will give her a call asap too.

xx

Hi all,

I have just booked a hypnotherapy session for next Friday! she is a specialist for birth preparation and gives me a CD to take away. she said i'd have to have 2 sessions - one to talk through everything and to experience what it's like to be hypnotised and then a second one where she teaches me how to do it myself. Really excited and can't wait!

How is everyone today?

roseability · 14/05/2009 22:14

Hi there! I am feeling quite upbeat today. Although come tomorrow I could be very irritable, such is my hormones. I just have a strong feeling this baby will come before 40 weeks (or am I just being hopeful!). I am away at the weekend, so will post on Sunday to see how all my hormonal buddies are!

So glad about your hypnotherapy session. I am sure it will help you to relax before the birth.

Hey how is everyone today? Our toddler has been a nightmare today, kind of makes you feel exhausted at the thought of that plus a newborn!

Still we have eurovision and choc to look forward to! hurrah!

Not just me then?
Intersting about iron levels. Am an emotional and grumpy wreck at 32 weeks

Heebychick · 17/05/2009 08:19

Hi knax, when i saw my MW in tears she said my iron levels looked ok (117) although they had dropped from 130, i think the 'ok' ratio is 120 to 150 but then she asked if i was feeling really 'heavy', grumy, tearful, resentful and having trouble taking deep breaths or getting out of breathe - these were all me and she said sometimes although the level might be ok for some for me it might be too low so to try tablets ..... my goodness i feel like the bionic woman!!! i know in fact i'm just back to 'me' but i feel 1000% better and able to interact with DD without snapping (mostly) and can stay up past 8pm!

def worth checking these things out and trying tablets, no harm if they don't work!

Good luck xx

Hi again!

38 weeks today and utterly exhausted. Some nights only getting a few hours sleep because I keep getting cramps and backache and start getting excited that things are happening and then they don't. Trying to deal with a lovely but normal three year old and keep house in order. Ashamed to admit I am not being very nice to my DS.

The other night I lost it with DH because his shoes were cluttering the hallway. I screamed at him to f*k off and said I was sick of s*t cluttering up the house. My poor DS doesn't know what has happened to his mummy. I just need this baby out NOW
