I got swollen feet today for the first time in my pregnancy today

my friend at work noticed and pointed them out because she had really bad problems with swelling in her pregnancy.

when I got home I noticed my ankles were swollen too.

I have an old injury on my left ankle and that was a lot more swollen. I've had swelling problems with that ankle last summer before I had physio on it but now I'm pregnant it's got sore again so swelling in that ankle doesn't particularly worry me.

But is it normal to get swelling in general this early on?

I have put my feet up and it seems to have helped a bit.

WHen was your last check up? How has your blood pressure been? Swollen feet during pregnancy can be perfectly normal; it can also be a sign of pre-eclampsia. You should give your midwife a ring.

my last check up was a 10 days ago and my blood pressure was fine. but I guess things can change
May be I should just call my doctor. my midwife has an answer machine and just calls back in a couple of days
