I am 16 weeks and no bump either.
I think it's normal.

newgirl · 07/05/2009 14:29

i think its ok - lots of people don't tell others they are pregnant til 3 months and they can because they don't show much

VTired · 07/05/2009 15:06

I was the same, but at the 12 wk scan they told me I was expecting twins! Am 20 wks now, and HUGE! Don't worry.

sparklycheerymummy · 07/05/2009 15:07

I didn't show until 21 weeks with my first. I was sure somehting was wrong. Then all of a sudden I was huge.

#2 was slow but steady. Didn't have a bump at 12wks more that I couldn't fit into my trousers.

brightonbleach · 07/05/2009 15:30

i strangely lost weight until 12 weeks, now 14 & a half weeks & only the teeniest mound, trousers suddenly don't fit but people just think I'm a bit podgier than usual grr - am looking forward to a 'proper' bump

nickschick · 07/05/2009 16:05

I was 17 weeks pregnant and still wearing a skintight catsuit (I was only 18) one morning I just woke up with a 'bump' truly I did even dh said that morning 'bloody ell'- now I just look 6 months gone and its 8 years since I had my last baby

sparklycheerymummy · 07/05/2009 16:26

ha ha nickschick.... thats funny. i remember thinking i was all bump until i had my dd and i could actually turn round and see the size of my bum!!!!!!!!!

TamTam29 · 07/05/2009 18:15

both pregnancies i didnt start showing till after my 20 week scan then almost over night my baby bump popped out!

Both times i just looked like i had put on weight and was bloated till I had a very obvious bump around 51/2 - 6 months!

nickschick · 07/05/2009 18:48

At the time we lived in a house with a hallway between the bedrooms dh was in the big bedroom as I passed he called me to go in - I had to walk to the next room to get space to turn around

Dh said why didnt you come when I asked you?

Cos i cant bloody well fit to turn around i sobbed and I had to wash up sideways cos my bump put me to far away from the sink.

EvieBear · 07/05/2009 19:57

it's totally normal!! don't worry about it at all. it takes a good while to get a bump - pretty surprising when you expect to look pregnant after a few weeks when it's all so new

LadyAga · 07/05/2009 21:11

I looked a little bloated from 4mths(like I had trapped wind) until 6mths then I "popped".

Everyone is different; it depends on your height, body shape and muscle tone.

I didnt have a bump till around 24/26 ish weeks with 1st, and about 22 with second.
Then It seemed I just got huge overnight.

blommetjie · 08/05/2009 09:14

thank you for all of that, feel a bit better now! you start thinking that you imagined the baby there(apart from feeling very sick all the time).

got a scan tomorrow, so will see how things are going

Glad you feel bit better. Congratulations btw

Kingsroadie · 08/05/2009 12:10

blommetjie I am only 10+2 but don't have a bump or anything AND have no morning sickness. So I sometimes wonder if this baby is a figment of my imagination! First pregnancy.

If I hadn't had a scan two weeks ago I wouldn't believe it. Now I am just wondering whether everything is okay, especially as I barely have any symptoms at all. Apart from the fact that I have gone up 2 cup sizes already I would never know. Fingers crossed for 12 week scan...

WinkyWinkola · 08/05/2009 12:11

I'm nearly 16 weeks with DC3 and don't really have a bump yet. I've been v. sick though.

brightonbleach · 08/05/2009 12:49

kingsroadie thats weird, we have same symptoms on a craving thread and now this one as well! I have had no MS & no bump (am 14+6) & scans are only thing making it really real so far...!! also my first I must admit I feel more tired than usual, and this week a bit weepy out of the blue, bit like PMS, & am getting twitchy legs at night, so I DO believe I'm pregnant now, but as its my/our first we were both expecting me to be chucking up & get a giant bump instantly haha

Kingsroadie · 11/05/2009 11:17

brightonbleach - I know - it's funny! No MS, same cravings, no bump (although you are further along than me). My first too but live in London and am assuming you may live in Brighton?

I have also gone off eating protein (well, meat). Never a huge meat eater but def enjoy a big steak sometimes but now I jsut want the carbs aspect of the meal a lot more than the protein. Don't suppose you have that too...?

brightonbleach · 11/05/2009 12:30

kingsroadie hello! Yes, Brighton here, we moved from London a few years ago. enjoying the sun & sea today - I work at home (translation: today i will be mostly in the garden...)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm carbs mmmmmmmmmmm [homer simpson drooling over mashed potatoes instead of donuts]

ah, your first too? its a whole new world isn't it? am enjoying it - 15 weeks today! & feel strangely better today than have done all month, hope this is a good sign. How are you feeling? I have suddenly gained 2/3 pounds this morning, eek how funny! I've been on the scales four times, so it must be true.

blommitjle A friend of mine just reminded me that she only gained 11pounds overall in her pregnancy, and she's only small, so it really varies from person to person

Kingsroadie · 11/05/2009 15:49

Sorry everyone - bit of a thread hijack here....not sure if there is some way to message members without taking over a thread! Brightonbleach - yes I am in London - you may be able to tell from the name - working from home sounds good and something you can do after the baby too! I don't but I will stop working when the baby comes anyway. Leave it to hubby earn the money. God, I still feel rather superstitious talking about it all as not 12 weeks yet and just don't feel pregnant! Am nervously awaiting 12 week scan next Weds.

Only 2 of my friends have babies, and not many are married either so it is slightly odd for me as I don't know many people in the same position, or anywhere near it. But I am sure I'll meet people at NCT classes etc.!

And yes carbs - I rather shamefully am addicted to supernoodles - an obession which started at school.

Apologies again for the hijack...

blommetjie · 12/05/2009 12:15

that's ok! also addicted to cards, the more salty and savoury the better!

you are right about the scan-only way to know. went for mine, and all is ok, if very small! what a lovely sight..

wish i didn't feel so sick, all those that missed out on that are very lucky!!
