28 week bloods - PGD?

when I last saw the midwife, she ordered testing to be done this morning for my 28 week bloods. Saw the phlebotomist and he actually had to GOOGLE what one of tests was for!!! He then told me that I had to have that test done at the hospital because he wasn't able to do it in the office It's the PGD test - does anyone know what it's for? Is it for gestational diabetes?

thanks!

As far as I know the diabetes test is known as GTT - PGD from Googling seems totally different and a bit irrelevant at 28 weeks....I would double check with your mw that it is the right initials maybe

Sorry I can't be any more help

Thanks, Becca - you're right, it's actually PDG, not PGD. But that doesn't seem to have made a difference, as I just called the hospital to find out where I'd need to go and the midwife there didn't know what I was talking about either! She advised me to call tomorrow afternoon when they should have the tests that were ordered and the ones that were/were not taken on their system and then she could better tell what I need to do next. Seriously, my GP is an administrative nightmare!!!

Thanks!
