Feel all alone

Hi. Am new to posting on the site but have just found out that I am pregnant. I have recently moved with DP (no job or local friends as of yet) and haven't told anyone else that I am pregnant as I am in the process of registering with a doctor. I am terrified but can't talk to anyone and it just feels so lonely. Everytime I go on the internet to look something up, I just feel more and more overwhelmed!!! Sorry for the moan, I just needed to say it!

Im sure you will make friends soon at anti natal classes and clubs. I am really sorry things are so hard for you at the moment. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the support - good ideas. I know things will get better, it is just an awful lot to take in at the moment as it wasn't exactly planned.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Well done. Hope registering with the new GP is straightforward. I've been meaning to register with my local GP for over a year, as I moved house in December 2007!!!!! I am worried it will affect my IVF funding so I'm staying with the old GP surgery until they find out I've moved or until I get pregnant in which case i'll definitely register with the surgery that is a 10 minute walk from home. Will be handy for when I have a baby and don't want to load the pram/buggy into the car.

I also don't want to have to answer loads of questions about the funding in case someone decides they don't want to fund any more IVF cycles for me and hubby.

You can tell us all your worries and aches and pains. We are grrrrrr-eeat!!!!!!

Hi there! Thanks for the lovely welcome! It is my first baby - and yes it is a mix of exciting and scary - mostly the latter at the moment as I know NOTHING!!!!

I hope the registering will be straightforward as the surgery is a five minute walk away. I am going to sound completely daft here - but I don't know how far I am - I have a vague idea that my last period was mid march but other than that...We weren't planning the pregancy you see, so I never paid much attention to dates! I am waiting to see the doctor.

I have had a look at the ante natal thread and will say hello there.

Speak to the health visitor when you register with a doctor and ask about ante natal groups. You could make life long friends at those. I had lived in my area a while before having children and made friends at the ante natal.
