Did anyone here take over a year to get pregnant the first time?

I thought it might make me feel better if anyone who took longer than a year could share their success stories and if they did anything different the month they conceived?

Took a year just to get my periods back after coming off the pill.

Another year to conceive naturally.

4 years in total to deliver a baby after a couple of MCs and going on Clomid eventually.

Second baby conceived immediately though without assistance

It's a difficult time. You feel like a failure. But the more you worry about it, the harder it seems to be to conceive. I became quite depressed, but I resisted medical intervention because the pill had obviously messed my hormones around so much already. In hindsight I wish I'd gone on Clomid sooner as I conceived within 3 months. Perhaps it was the ovarian stimulation or perhaps just knowing i had something else to help my unreliable body along was enough to relax me and help me conceive.

31 is a spring chicken by the way - don't panic. I was 33 for ds1 and 36 for ds2.

Yes - 18 months here and didn't do anything different/special the month it happened.

took us a year. Was very stressed about it. Had builders in doing an extension.

Conceived when the builders left!

Conceived first try with our second child (and I MEAN first try). Was feeling really ambivalent about having a second and thought we'd "give it a go" anyway.

I'm convinced it's better if you're chllled out but that doesn't help at the time!

2 years DD1, DD2 first attempt, DC3(due in Aug) first attempt! I used to be really fit, trained every day. Got pregnant when I decided to be a couch potato.

I took well over a year the first time. Then DH and I went for a weekend break away, no thoughts of babies, planning to see specialists on our return. We went to a very peaceful spot, were totally relaxed, and that's when it finally happened.

Took 18 months to conceive ds after 1 course of Clomid and major temping and obsessing. DD after a year but not trying very hard. Current pg - a happy accident after one moment of madness! Good luck...

It took us 3 years of not using contraception. After about 18 months of trying we started looking properly at ovulation dates, so did my doctor who took what seemed like pints of blood from me over the course of about a year but could never get high enough hormone readings to say exactly when I was ovulating so they started to think I wasn't and sent us for tests.
By the time the first hospital app came round we had got well into the frame of mind that this might never happen and that's when it did!

similar thing happened to a friend of mine but she had gone as far as the test to get her tubes checked and got preg straight after. I am told that happens to a lot of women because the test flushes through your tubes TMI

also the zita west how to get pregnant book is very good my friend has lent it to 3 people including me and guess what we are all either preg or had a baby recently after trying for quite a while

good luck!!

It took me a year each of the three times I have been pregnant. I tried acupuncture, and that was no good, but I do think reflexology helped for me (it's very relaxing and put me in a "I'm in control and this will help" frame of mind!)
My second preg was conceived when we were due to see the fertility experts. I merrily said, see you next month, unless I am pregnant now, ha-ha, -then I was!
Good luck!
