Was it very soon or did it come as a huge surprise? And how did you know? What gave it away?

I had my suspicions the day before my period was due, because of a really weird cramp about a week before that that made me go 'huh, implantation?'

And then I shoved it out of my mind because we had been TTC for almost 2 years.

I knew for sure when I peed on the stick!!

Were you trying? I get those 'ovulating pains' Weird mostly.

this pregnancy and my last one, I had an idea about 4-5 days before AF was due!

liahgen · 06/05/2009 21:06

with ds 2, was 4 days early, and out of the blue couldn't face my curry Lightbulb mooment, was 2nd month of trying.

did test next day, lovely 2 blue lines.

liahgen · 06/05/2009 21:08

oh yeah and with pg between dc3 and 4, got up one morning, absolutely starving as if i hadn't eaten for days, Was breastfeeding and hadn't had periods yet, ds was only 8 mths.

poas that afternoon and yep, 2 red lines. Didn't stick though, mmc at 11 wks, and ~I knew that too although no signs of anything wrong.

DS - Guessed I might be pregnant when period was about 2-3 days late and everything tasted funny. Got a positive test about a week later. Was surprised, as only first month of ttc and wasn't expecting it to happen so soon.

DD - Guessed the day my period was due, as was very sick. Got a positive test 2 days later. Had an inkling I might be anyway, as we'd been ttc.

First time - didn't know until 2 weeks or so after conception, when felt really tired and realised AF not come yet, then did test and had to sit down for a bit in shock.

Second time - knew within hours. Yes I know it sounds barmy (and has been roundly dismissed by the community midwife, grr) - but about 5 hours after BD, suddenly felt exceptionally tired, then that night had all the usual palpitations, breathlessness etc I get in pregnancy. Next couple of days, I had cramping and had to go to the loo in the middle of the night a lot etc etc, plus felt 'floaty'. I was so convinced I didn't even drink on my birthday! But didn't get a positive result on the test until about BD+11 days, so had convinced myself I really was going mental by then. Am now 37 weeks, so obviously not that mental

Big misscreosote. The healthcare people in this country are very quick to dismiss anything out of the ordinary. Why on earth shoudn't you know? It's your body afterall. Silly midwife.

Absolutely, thank you GrumpyMoo! (you don't sound that grumpy )

Any particular reason you're asking?

ash83 · 07/05/2009 18:21
