18 wks - Strong Braxton Hicks - Is this normal?

I am 18 wks pregnant and have been suffering from quite strong Braxton Hicks on & off for a good few weeks now.

They are not really terribly painful, but do feel quite strong.

Should I be worried about this?

I have lots of miscarriages in the past, although they have all been well before the 12week mark.

Any advice, much appreciated....

(I tend to find that any kind of physical activity brings them on, so I am spending a lot of time sat on my butt doing bugger all, but am starting to feel like a bit of a free-loader doing this!)

Hiya there,

I pregnant with my first baby and i first started getting braxton hicks at 24+ weeks i went to the hosp as i didnt know what was happening and with it being my first i was quite scared!! :-(
The midwife there explained that all wemon get braxton hicks during pregnancy sum more than others and sum dont get them at all, she told me to rest as keeping busy and on the go can sumtimes make them feel worse she also sed to drink plenty ov water as sumtimes dehydration can make them worse 2.

I dont think its anything to worry about altho she did check my urine just to make sure i didnt have an infection ect as braxton hicks with urine infection can trigger prem labour, i wud try and rest hun and if that doesnt help or ur worried at all mayb call your midwife for advice.

Hope this has helped xxxx
