Please give support am trying for a baby after 2 mc

We have finally plucked up the courage to try again after 2 mc last year. Anyone been in this situation - success stories? Any hints and tips on carrying full term. Thanks

So sorry to hear about your MC.

I went to see my doctor after 2 similar experiences and she advised me to take baby aspirin as soon as I had a positive pregnancy test. She told me that she couldn't say either way whether it would help, but it did. I now have a week old DS sleeping beside me.

I stopped taking it at 12 weeks on the advice of my consultant. I have PCOS which makes mc more likely, so also took metformin which is also supposed to help.

No advice really but just wanted to wish you luck. I conceived my dd after 2 consecutive mc's. I didn't do anything differently but just wanted to know that it does happen .

Well I'll come and join you Have now had 3 mc's - one at 4+4, one at 11+5 and one at 5+4. Awaiting referral to recurrent MC clinic, but am not going to stop trying in the mean time AND fully intend to have a baby aspirin once a day just in case it helps.

There IS life (and possible pregnancy ) after mc! Congratulations on feeling able to go for it again.

I had 3 MMC, then DSs1 and 2, then MMC, then DS3. So, trying and trying again certainly worked for us.

Was a particular reason found for your miscarriages found? I am asking as I would only take Aspirin if recommended by your doctor. It can help if recurring MCs due to certain clotting disorders, otherwise it is of no benefit and in theory can do harm.

Try and relax, I know easier said than done, and enjoy the process of babymaking if you can!!

I now have 2 Dss after 2 consecutive MCs. My Dr. recommended that if I felt emotionally able, we should just keep trying because it could be that if the levels of pregnancy hormones are higher as a result of the previous pregnancy, it might make conception easier. Who knows, but I did become pregnant immediately after each MC. One resulted in a second MC, the other in DS1! Good Luck. It's traumatic and I feel for you.

Do not give up! I had DD last year after two m/c in 2007.

I know there is nothing more heart rending or (seemingly) isolating or life-dominating than miscarriage but remember that the VAST majority of the thousands and thousands ladies who go through this every year do get PG and have their babies!

I can heartily recommend reading "Miscarriage: what every woman needs to know" by Prof Lesley Reagan (you can get it on Amazon), very sensitively written but full of incredibly useful information

I'm 38 weeks now after 2 miscarriages so it can happen.

Please don't take aspirin without proper medical advice though, it can cause problems so you need to sure it is right for you.

I was asking this very same question about six months ago after two consecutive mcs last year and one over three years ago.
Now I am 15 wks pg. I didn't do anything differently. The medical advice I got was that my mcs were most likely just down to pure bad luck and nothing esle and that since I already had a Ds,chances are I would have a successful pregnancy.
Do ask your Gp about taking apsirin though before taking it. Don't just take it willy nilly. I asked my GP about it and she said it was only used for cerain conditions and it was best I didn't use it.

I'm currently 32 weeks, at age 43, after five miscarriages, varying from six to 13 weeks.

It's worth getting yourself checked out for all the various sticky blood disorders, though they do seem relatively rare, as they can be treated with heparin or indeed baby aspirin.

My last two miscarriages, at least, were due to chromosonal abnormalities, and even though all tests on me came back clear, my consultant recommended I take baby aspirin (75mg dose) as it doesn't do any harm, and might just help.

I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant with my 3rd after 4 mc.

I'm not sure there is much you can do to make it more successful. However, what has helped me to deal with the anxiety (which has been pretty bloody horrible throughout first trimesters) is to book a private scan at around 8 weeks. A healthy heartbeat then correlates with about a 98% chance of all being OK. Not sure if a scan before 8 weeks would be worth it as while it is possible to see a heartbeat from around 6 weeks, the chances of it going wrong are much higher than at 8 weeks.

When I was first pg, I went to see my GP and requested an early "viability/reassurance" scan and she said this was perfectly reasonable, given my history, and referred me. I got one when I was just over eight weeks.

Def get early scan at just past 8 weeks, or even towards 9. I had MMC at 10 weeks last summer but baby made it to just about 8 weeks, reading lots since seems that 8 weeks is a key point in development (I think it's when certain organs / systems are complete and start to function)

My mc were at 6 week then 10 week and no reason found but they dont do testing in our hospital till you have had 3 mc. I have got a dd who is 4 and had a difficult pregnancy with her pre-eclam, emer c section and she was born prem so think my body just doesnt like being pregnant. Will as gp about baby asprin and definitly ask for 8 week scan, it shouldnt be a problem because i will get a consultant anyway cos of prev pre-eclampsia
