Is anyone actually able to eat healthily in their first trimester?

I seem to be living off Ritz crackers, with butter and that particularly cheap chedder that's really wangy... I can't touch protien, ie meat, and my stomach only wants to eat sugar, and carbs. Preferably both togeather. And I feel sick at dinner time, so don't feel like exerting myself to cook a nutritious tofu stir-fry with 6 different coloured vegetables in it..
Surely I'm not the only one out there?

I remember with DS I ate really healthily for the first week or so of knowing i was pregnant.

Then I discovered the only thing I wanted to eat was boiled potatoes.

DH tried to tempt me back onto food again, but it didn't happen until I was about 12 or 13 weeks pregnant.

Same thing happened with DD - this time he got in an extra supply of potatoes

Luckily all I wanted to eat was fruit! It didn't last long though...crunchies, ice cream , crisps etc...

I'm sure my new baby will come out looking like a takeaway! The baby gets what it needs anyway, it's the mother who needs the healthy food, so if you feel ok then i reckon it's ok.

Yeah, but I don't feel ok. I eat shite all day like, as Effiegadsby said, a Starch Monster. Instead of feeling better, I STILL feel sick, but now with the knowledge that I've eaten half a kilo of crisps at half ten at night. I can't face cooking, so order takeaway. The guy at the pizzaria now reconises my voice, and doesnt even bother to ask for the address or name... . Ah well, I think I'm 8 weeks, so only a few more to go, and then I can start to feel better. And at least I can eat, with DS2 I literally couldnt eat a thing, lost lots of weight, (of course, now I'm just putting it on)and the Dr wanted to check me into hospital for a week. But that would have driven me mad.

We do all seem to be craving sugars (refined or carbs) and fat, so I'm listening to my baby on this one. Also, if I don't eat every hour or so, it's like a major blood sugar drop and I feel sick and woozy.

My mealtimes at the moment are...
Breakfast
2nd breakfast
Mid-morning snack
Elevenses
Lunch
Mid afternoon snack
Afternoon tea
Dinner
Supper
Bedtime snack

...and I STILL wake up hungry in the night !

I'm sitting here on MN, holding an empty glass (previously full of Pepsi Max) and telling myself 'I MUST STOP DRINKING CRAP' after this fizzy drink. With DS, I couldn't eat at all in the first trimester. With this one, all I crave is junk food like pizza and fizzy drinks and bizarrely smoked/raw salmon. All of which I barely touched in my first pregnancy. It's true what they say about your second child, you won't let the first go near knives, the second one you practically leave them to juggle knives! Argh! I feel so guilty.

If it was white and processed, I ate it in the first trimester. I turned into a 2 year old who would only eat proper food if it was hidden in mash in the 2nd trimester. Now 36 weeks and I still have to persuade myself to finish my main course before I am let loose on the remaining Creme Eggs (and they're running out, don't know what I'll do when I've eaten the last dozen!.

In my case, babies are made by Cadbury's....
