Period Pains

Hiya...

This is a bit long winded so please bare with me...I have recently found out I'm pregnant with my 2nd child, I am still very early only 4weeks. This pregnancy is already so different to when I was pregnant with my daughter ... the thing that is worrying me the most is I am having period pains and I didn't have any of this before...it makes me more nervous because before I fell with my daughter I had a miscarriage...are period cramps "normal"? My mid wife wont see me until I am 10 weeks so I'm not sure who else to ask...

Hi I'm 7 weeks with my 2nd DC and I've been finding I've had lots of period type cramps. Don't remember these from when I had my DD - didn't know I was pregnant until I was 9 weeks then, but I've been told that it's perfectly normal.

Oops!!

I'm now 26 weeks and yes did get the usual period cramps when I was due, but after 4 days being late did test and got positive result. Had slight bleed (brownish discharge, similar to very last day of period), doctor got me booked in for early scan and I discovered I was 7+4 wks pg (thought i was just 6 wks according to my lmp).

I believe getting period like cramps is quite normal, could be embedding cramps.
