Hello,

I am quite new to Milton Keynes, been here about a year, is there anyone from this area who could let me know about the hospital, services etc?

I am 7 weeks pregnant so I have only been to the doc once for the first booking appointment for being pregnant.

Would be good to get views from other mothers, mum's to be who know the area.

Thank you

Wend xx

Good Morning xx

Im getting fed up of this waking up at 5.30 every morning, what's that all about?

Thank you all for your suggestions, I am definitely going to bring it all up with the midwife on the 27th and ask if I can go and visit them.

OH congrats on your new LO, well done xx you must have been a great experience having a HB, you will have to tell me all about how it went, I would be really interested and it also might help convince my DP lol
I was interested in a water birth with my daughter 18yrs ago, didn't happen tho as I had her in 8 mins, no time for anything at all... just about got my underwear off lol, so its def something I would be interested in this time too, I get ALOT of back pain in labour, well I did with last 2, so a water birth sounds just the ticket.

Thanks again all you have been sooo helpful, I will keep you posted on what happens

Have a great day all
xxXxx

Hi WW,

Sorry haven't been online recently, late pregnancy tiredness and a busy toddler taking it's toll.

I don't use facebook unfortuntely,is there a private messaging service on here??

Sure start is a government initiative, they provide free or very reduced rated acivities for the little'ns. We did loads of things like singing/stories, baby massage, baby signing and we still use it now so my 2yr old can play with the indoor and outdoor toys. I know they have centres throughout MK so it would depend on where you are.

I wouldn't stress too much about where to have your baby. MK hospital do have all the facilities you need, it is just in my experience the staff aren't always keyed into your needs, but you and your OH will say something if your not happy. A HB would be amazing, I have known quite a few women who have had HB's and all very successfull and special for them. Your midwife will tell you if she thinks it is an option for you

talk soon

just want to say that I have some experience of MK hospital from a few years ago, and not good.

However, I'm now in Oxford and my favourite obstetric consultant from here is apparently now working in MK hospital. Her name is Kirsten Duckett. So if you have any complications and are put under consultant care, ask for her! Hopefully her being there will improve things generally as well; though part of the problem has been MK expanding massively but the government not increasing budgets for the hospital, schools and other public services in line with the population growth there.

Hi All,

Not been on much, been having quite a few symptoms, have had a good old moan over on the 40 + mums thread on here, I'm just not feeling good at all

Hi carbooty
I think you can private message not done it myself but think its the yellow envelope on the end by the persons name.

I have been speaking to DP about home birth and he now sees after looking into it it sounds good as I reminded him its not set in stone and at anytime I can go into hosp if its what we feel is the right thing to do, so when we go to midwife on 27th may going to say we want a home birth but still want to check out surrounding hosp's incase we need it.

WW is thinking carbooty needs to get a facebook account lol

Hi hedgiemum
Thank you for replying, I think you are right, MK has got so big now they haven't given the services what it needs, but hopefully all goes to plan and i will be nice and comfy at home

Hi madmissy
Think I might be just a tad too far for Barnet lol lets just keep fingers crossed all goes really well and I end up having a home delivery.

Hope everyone is ok and well

huge hugs everyone

xxXxx
