Just to clarify, this is test where you drink a bottle of lucozade (without fasting)and then have blood sugar taken after an hour, not the full 3-hour fasting test.

I just got my results from this test which are 7.5. Does anyone know whether a result like this means I'll have to go on to have full GTT? At the moment, am unable to get hold of anyone useful at the hospital who can help me.

Done a bit of googling, but results appear to be inconsistent - I think I may have read somewhere that anything over 7.8 is a problem, but it's not completely clear.

So if anyone can help, would be incredibly grateful! Thanks!

I had the full 3 hour test last week, and was told that anything above 8 is a problem. At 7.5 you might just get away with it, especially as you didn't need to fast. They could either request a full testing, or just do another mini test at some point.

A normal reading, diabetic or not, is usually between 4-7mmol/l before eating, and no more than 10mmol/l 90 minutes after eating. So your reading wasn't as bad as it could be imo.

Thanks for that info. According to what you were told then SheWillBeLoved, I would have thought 7.5 an hour after drinking a bottle of lucozade should be fine. Can anyone else help with this?

I had GD and my BM had to be 7.9 or less 1 hr after eating, so that result is probably fine given you drank a bottle of lucozade! But I am not an expert.

Thanks plantsitter. To be honest, what I want to find out is at what level they become worried and send me for a full GTT...
