Just wondered how any of you found Salisbury Hospital?

Am impressed so far, but wondered what the maternity ward experience was like?

I'm equidistant for Salisbury and Bournemouth - but liking Salisbury at the moment.

Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I gave birth to a daughter at Salisbury in 1995, and twins in 2000. I'll be going back in October if all goes well. So my experience is not recent, but I was very happy with them. In particular with the birth of my twins - things were a bit fraught with the second twin being an emergency caesarean, but I felt they were both professional and respectful during the birth.
I wasn't quite as happy with the stay afterwards, as due to the surgery I needed help to get the twins positioned for breastfeeding. I'd already fed 2 children and knew that if they were latched on right there would be no pain, yet when I pointed out to a nurse that the feeding hurt, even though there was a sign on the wall behind her that said to reposition the baby if you felt pain - she turned and walked away! Perhaps I should have complained but after that I just coped as best I could till I went home (and got them feeding properly, not weaning them for 10 months).
Sorry for the length of my reply! I've been waiting for nearly 9 years to complain about that unhelpful nurse! But as I say the birth itself went very well.
