Very quick question about urine and pregnancy test!!!!

Went to do a test this morning, very full bladder and the blasted kit wasn't in the cupboard! I remember now it's in the drawer of my bedroom - don't want to go in there now as my youngest is sleeping. I've taken my urine sample as I was really bursting. Is the sample OK for half an hour or so, I mean urine doesn't go off or anything?! I'd obviously rather use this sample as it's the best one.

Tried to look for answer for web on this but can't see anything. Also if it is negative which I expect it to be, would it definitely be accurate at this stage? My period was due on Monday 28 days since the last one and I remember the exact date since we last had sex (on holiday) which was 19th April, so quite a long time ago.

Had very light patchy bleeding for 3 days but no proper period, but I think my body could be out of sync due to pregnancy which didn't come to term... this was 8 weeks ago.

Thanks.

urine won't go off it will be fine to use to test

can't help you on the accuracy - the amount of preg hormone varies from person to person so some people need to be v v late to get a +

good luck

Half an hour is fine.
HCG does degrade over time so you wouldn't want to test you wee after it had been sitting in a mug for, say, 24 hours, but 30 mins will be fine.

If you last had sex on 19 April that was 12 days ago. To be absolutely sure of the test being accurate I might wait a bit longer, but the fact that you are already 4 days late would make me want to test! Are your periods normally v regular? If so, I would probably go for it, especially if the test is quite a sensitive one.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Bugger, I mucked up the test. Didn't have the instructions (it was a two pack thing) and dipped it too far so the window thing got wet. Got nothing on both windows. I'll test again later and let you know. Thanks for the replies.

Yes period is usually regular, 26-28 days, now day 33.

Hang on, I'd put the lid on (which is obviously what I was supposed to do) about to chuck it 10 mins later and saw a line in the not pregnant box. Whew! I am pretty sure it is right. Probably test again in a few days to be sure.
