Don't panic! Call your GP or midwife, right now, have a chat and put your mind at rest. All sorts of wierd things go on down there when your pregnant, but it's always best to check if your not sure.

I know its not easy but dont panic x

Usually brown means old blood which isnt usually the sign of bad things
Have you got an EPU near you that you can go to for reassurance (they may offer you an early scan)

Fingers crossed for you x

Try not to panic, I also had this at around 7 weeks it only lasted for a day but my GP still refered me for an early scan so try to get an appointment asap to put your mind at rest. For the rest of of my pregnancy everything was fine and now my DD is 9 weeks old.
Goold luck and fingers crossed that everything will be ok xx

Again please try not to worry, just about every woman i've spoken to that been pregnant has said that they experienced some kind of bleeding or spotting.

If you can wait it out give yourself a couple of days and see what happens, if not then as ladies above have said call your docs, most are really willing to get you in for an early scan to check everythings ok.

I bled REALLY heavily on and off up to 16 weeks and thankfully my little one's still here and kicking at 30 weeks. I just forced myself to chill out and wait for everything to settle down.

I know it's hard though, I really hope everything goes ok, please let us know xxxx

I had this in both pregnancies, had a visit to EPU for reassurance and thankfully all was well. The midwife explained to me that it was quite common at around the time that your period would be due (so for me I had bleeding at around 8 weeks and 12 weeks pregnant).

As per the comments above, probably all well, but if you have got concerns a visit to EPU should be straightforward to sort out either via community midwife, hospital antenatal unit or GP.

Hi JuJu - Bleeding is pretty common in pg (I've done plenty of it during this pg and am now 11wks) but it's always worth checking out and if you bleed you are entitled to an early scan so that should reassure you.

If the blood looks like "prune juice" there is a possibility of it being an ectopic so it's worth getting checked out but it's a 1/100 risk so please don't let that scare you.

Best of luck.

ldeeanna · 03/05/2009 15:56

How are you JuJu? Hope everything was ok?

heron22 · 03/05/2009 17:31

hi juju, have you considered getting an early scan? the scan will reassure you.

madmissy · 03/05/2009 18:22

juju i had this with my first! browny dried blood like i had a scan ( iwas 16weeks then i think) and she was fine and they put it down to old blood and lots of new stuff happening

svy · 03/05/2009 21:07

I had this with both of mine at around 6 weeks. I was told it was implantation bleed. Lots of my friends had the same thing. Its worrying but the body does weird things when pregnant. It would be a good idea to get an early scan though, put your mind at rest.
