35 weeks and baby's head already engaged for 2nd baby , with braxtons hicks in lower back

Hi all

i am 35 weeks and just been checked by MW and she said the baby is already engaged...
this si my second baby and am a bit scared as I thounght head gets engaged at last moment for 2nd one...
Am getting a lot of contractions, brxton hicks on my lower back too..since few weeks..
any thoughts, experience?

Try not to worry, even though second babies often don't engage until labour, some do. Some pop in and out as well, so your baby might pop out again before you go into labour!

Lots of BHs and pain could be pre-labour, but seeing as pre labour can go on for weeks, you can't really read much into it.

Remember your baby and your body know when is a good time to be born, and at 35 weeks you're only 2 weeks off term, so even if you went into labour now your baby would most likely be just fine.
