Hiya im feeling abit confused!!

I am 36+4 weeks pregnant, i had a rise in my bp 3 weeks ago which wasnt too high but midwife sed had risen from my usual, the week later it went up a bit more and i had glu in my urine, last week it came down abit but still higher than what it has been prev.
I told midwife i had been getting headaches over past few weeks and she sed to keep an eye on headaches and any visual disturbances.

Now past 2 days iv had headaches again i took paracetamol yesterday and it didnt shift i took another 2 4 hrs later and it did eventually go!! But today iv woke up wid real bad head again, my mam also noticed my feet looked a bit puffy yesterday. So i have rang midwife and she has sed shes gonna try aand fit me in this afternoon at the day ward to be monitored and to be checked.
I thought she wud av just advised me and now im worried i go up and im worrying over nnothing!!! Has anyone else experienced these symptoms or know what cud be causing it obv i wanna know everything is okay but just scared if im worrying over nothing. This is my first baby xxx

Good Luck shellmc you are doing absolutely the right thing. Its always best to get checked with those symptoms. Ask loads of questions when you are there but try and relax as well

I'm in a similar position at the moment and its normal for the bp and protein to go up and down etc and theres a lot of toing and froing between hospital etc until they get a good idea of whats going on.

You have made me think guys. I have been awake in the night with a bad headache and had one all day which is not shifting and is making my eyes feel very heavy, kind of migrane like which is unusual for me. I also have very puffy feet and hands and have weighed myself and have put on 10lbs in 10 days when I havent eaten any more than usual. My obstretrican doesnt want to see me for 3 weeks even though I'm 37 weeks. Think I may go to my local midwife drop in clinic which is being held this afternoon just to get checked as I had very high blood pressure at 40+ weeks last pregnancy and I always have protein in my urine. Didnt realise it could be pre-eclampsia. Better to be checked than worry.

How are you sarahken?

cupofteaplease · 27/04/2009 21:12

How did you get on shellmc?

sarahken · 27/04/2009 22:15

Hi everyone, I went to my midwife drop in and got my blood pressure checked, but she said if anything it was on the low side of normal. She phoned the hospital as I had some swelling as well as the migrane like headaches and they asked me to go to the labour ward for monitoring at 6pm tonight. I just had my urine and blood pressure checked, and fetal monitoring for 30 mins. All was well and I felt perfectly fine come 6pm when I had to go to the hospital so felt a bit of a timewaster. But better to get checked out and enjoy my last 3 weeks of peace!

I'm guessing Chell has ended up being admitted - if she hasn't started a different thread - will go and check......

Sarah, really pleased you had such a positive outcome, but absolutely worth checking, and that certainly doesn't sound like a bundle of symptoms that you want to just ignore.

Hiya ladies!!

I went up to hosp at 3 yestaday, bp was up wen i went in but thankfully urine was clear, i saw a doctor who went tru all my symptoms with me and sed he wanted to keep aneye on my blood pressure he wanted to receck it after half hour if its still up he wud chk again every half hour for 3 hours.
Me and hubby sat waiting for a while after that then doc came back and had alook at my feet and hands and sed i was carrying a bit ov water, hubby also sed at this time he had noticed my face was quite puffy mo than usual LOL x
He asked me about headaches and if id had any haziness or spots in front ov my eyes which i havent and sed hed be bk to chk bp again.
After about 40 mons he came to check bp and it had gone down slightly, he also chked my reflexes as to which he thort i didnt have any at first untill i relaxed more ha ha.
We listened to baby, baby wasnt monitored tho just listened in with doppler and everything seemed fine baby sounded happy and was wriggling around, he had a feel of baby too thats prob what was making baby move soo much wanted his big hands off ha ha.
SOO i was bk home around half 5, i asked why i was getting headaches if anything else cud be causing them, he sed that at the start and end ov preg ya hormones are higher (progesterone) and that can cause headaches, also swelling in later preg is common too, but along side high bp and prot in water is a sign ov pre eclampsia, thankfully im fine and im soo thankful to u all for your advice as i felt like i was wasting time, but after going up and knowing me and baby are fine i feel soo much more relieved and came home smiling!!! Thankyou to u all wonderful ladies xxxxx Love Shell xxxx
