I think this is so out of the realms of baby books that a call to the hospital is advised.

Baby is in a protective bubble but even so.

My gut instinct is that she will be abslutely fine. There is a good insulating layer of tissue and fluid between you and her.

Ooops two different opinions....

How much water did you spill?

prettyfly1 · 26/04/2009 17:57

This is very, very unlikely to have hurt the baby - too well protected however if you are very concerned, then taking a trip to the hospital to get checked out for your own peace of mind is the best thing you can do.

I'd say she'd be fine, it's you who will suffer! If you are going to worry about it though could you call NHS direct to see what they suggest?

froggy16 · 26/04/2009 17:59

It wasn't a huge amount, and alot got soaked up by t-shirt and over bump panel on trousers.

your baby is protected inside your body, within your uterus, two membranes and fluid, the boiling water will not have hurt her, however, you should be checked out as you have a burn, and it might need dressing and checking out again in a few days
