MW signed it when I was 24+6 because she was going on holiday . I didn't ask her to she just gave it to me signed .

Now at 35 weeks I get a letter telling me it can't be paid because the mw signed it before I was 25 weeks and to get it done again .

Oh well .

my midwife put my date of birth as my due date. luckily i noticed before i sent it off and was able to change it.

Comewhinewithme · 24/04/2009 12:03

I told her I wasn't really 25 weeks until the day after and she said they would be fine with it .

My midwife also signed mine a few days early but she post dated it, so i wouldn't have to come back in a couple of days.

lastboxoftampons · 24/04/2009 13:08

My midwife didn't even sign mine! and I didn't realize she needed to fill out a portion of it until AFTER I left the office

But one day! that's totally not fair!

heverhoney1 · 24/04/2009 13:29

Get it re-done at your next visit ASAP!!!! apparently they wont pay our if you submit the form after you have given birth

DawnAS · 24/04/2009 13:56

I called them yesterday to find out what had happened to my form.

Apparently they still don't have the systems up and running so can't even confirm whether they have RECEIVED them or not!!

So, baby's due in 6 weeks and they could easily say that they never received the form and not pay out - it's just another cocked up system I think!!

So.... all in all, I'm not banking on receiving the money...

IrishMaeve · 24/04/2009 15:29

Hi,

I got my payment today, haven't even received the acknowledgement letter yet!

Effielou · 24/04/2009 15:33

I sent mine in at 28 weeks now 30+ How long does it take??? If you don't mind me asking x

flippineck · 24/04/2009 15:35

I sent my form in at 28 weeks, the money was paid in early this week (am 37 weeks now) and I received a letter this morning telling me I had got it! I think because it's all so new there's going to be a few hiccups but hopefully no one will miss out on anything they are entitled to.

Effielou · 24/04/2009 15:39

Thank-you-- I'm being delivered at 36/37 weeks due to complications last time!! Do you think they will still pay it??? Sorry for all the questions

IrishMaeve · 24/04/2009 16:05

I sent my form in at the end of March and am due at the end of June. I think you'll be fine as long as you submit it before you give birth. Here's what the HMRC website says:

"Once you are 25 weeks pregnant you can make a claim for the Grant. But you need to get your claim form filled in and signed by your midwife or doctor before you have your baby.

You should get your completed claim form to the Health in Pregnancy Grant Office within 31 days of your midwife or doctor signing it. For example, if your midwife signs the form on 6 April, the Health in Pregnancy Grant Office will need to receive it before 7 May.

If the Health in Pregnancy Grant Office receives your completed claim form any later than 31 days after your midwife or doctor has signed it, you may miss out on your payment. It is best to send the form in straightaway to avoid losing out on money. You should do this even if you cannot complete some parts of the form, for example, if you don't have a National Insurance number or you have not got a bank account."

Effielou · 24/04/2009 16:09

Thanks for that-- Hopefully it will be ok then xx heres hoping xxx

froggy16 · 25/04/2009 10:22

What if the date they process it is 31 days after midwife signed? Do they know when it was received? Until they process it they can't tell you if it's been received! I sent mine recorded at end of march (when I was 28 weeks), so I know they got it as they signed for it. The guy on the phone said if I hadn't heard from them by 2nd May then to call them back. It is very frustrating.

BBisfinallyPG · 25/04/2009 10:25

i will be sending mine recorded delivery, that way if they say we didnt recieve it till X i can produce a reciept that proves when and where it was recieved! bloody governement!!

brettgirl2 · 25/04/2009 10:47

It doesn't matter when you give birth, you need to apply within 31 days of MW signing form and before due date (according to leaflet from MW). How on earth are they going to know if you've had your baby anyway? That would require organisation and this lot couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

shellmc · 25/04/2009 12:37

Hiya, im due in just under 4 weeks and still havent heard or recieved the payment!! shock
I sent mine off 10 weeks ago im just hoping they have recieved my form!!!

Shell xxxx

titmouse · 25/04/2009 18:33

I sent my form off about 5 days before I gave birth and was also wondering how they would know if I had the baby or not. And also if the form arrived before the baby did. I'd be glad of the money but I don't hold out much hope of seeing it!

mumof2andabit · 25/04/2009 18:34

I got a letter today asking for more information....was I subject to immegration control! I wouldn't mind if they didn't have my information for sure start grant, tax credits, child benefit etc. Have ticked no and hopefully this means I'll see a payment soon!
