we are not offered prophalactic anti-d here but I assumed blood would be tested at various stages to check no antibodies were present. does anyone know if it is, and if so,at which stages? i know that if i sustained an injury or had bleeding etc, it would be done then but is it done at set times?

i am rhesus a negative and had to have anti d injections when i was preg with ds...although i cant remember when my first injection was i know i had one within 4 hours of him being born which i think was incase there was any blood transfer during labour. i think i had one about 28/30ish weeks.

i am rhesus neg, your blood should be screened at your booking in apt. Then anti d at 28 and 34 weeks, then a few hours after birth depending on blood type of your baby.

Where is here Olivo?
I'm in Italy and had anti-d only after amnio and a couple of hours after delivery. Blood wasn't automatically screened for antibodies at any other time.

We dont get the 28 or 34 one here anymore - i'm in Jersey. i wondered if there would be antibody testing instead. I know it was done at my booking in and would always be done in case of a sensitising incident. Maybe we're like you Bucharest.

You get antibody testing at 12 and 28 weeks here, plus after birth. Isn't it part of your standard booking bloods?

I'm getting the prophylatic injections this time, didn't the first... they've changed policy.

I am 27 weeks along, and will have my routine Rhogam shot this week. I had one after I miscarried in October, then one in February after my amnio. I will also get another after the baby is born. Generally, anytime there is a chance that the babys blood can mix with moms'(anytime you have spotting or an invasive procedure), you need a shot. My doc said they are good for about 15 weeks. I am in Canada BTW, so it may be different here.
