we have been ttc for a while now. lately ive been getting what feel like very mild period pain and i was wondering what implantation pains feel like. im not sure if this is what im getting or if it is my period again. my period is due in 9 days but i dont usually get cramps until i do come on. im trying not to get my hopes up and thought maybe would do a first response test. does anyone have any experience of these are they reliable or should i just wait and see if im late.

I doubt you'd get a positive result even off a first response test at 9 days before your period is due.

I had (what I now think must have been) implantation pains, brief sharp stabbing pains low down, but they didn't feel like my "normal" period pain.

Sorry to say, but I think all you can do is wait. I know while I was ttc I experienced every pg symptom in the books for the 5 months we tried and failed to conceive, then the month we did get lucky, apart from those pains, which I didn't even give a second thought to at the time, nothing, nil, zip, nada, other than the blue line on the test the day after my period was due.

Take no notice of that whole "nipples going darker" thing either. Mine have only just started to do that, and I am 7 months pregnant.

GOOD LUCK.

When did you ovulate?

Lulumama · 23/04/2009 18:05

well you could be, but 9 days before your period is unlikely to give you an accurate result, even the first response tests can hvae something like a 45 % level of accuracy , especially the longer it is before your period is due. i would wait until your are due or even late

ovulated on 17th, we had sex each day from 15th to 20th.

Almost certainly no way you'd get a pos result 6 days post ovulation. Just wait a while.

Good luck!!
