I was the same this time around. It will even out.

ilikeyoursleeves · 22/04/2009 23:06

I had serious bloating about 5 weeks but it soon settled down only to be replaced by a huge hard belly with (one) big baby inside!

AliceMumma · 22/04/2009 23:11

Yes its totally normal, i was the same. My sis in law was bigger at 5 weeks then at 13 weeks.

(tho your tummy does look very bloated, at least you are pregnant!! Mine kinda looks like that now and i had my bub 11 weeks ago!!)

Leannabanana · 23/04/2009 07:43

i have been looking about three months pregnant since the day i found out it would seems....i am twelve weeks finally but seriously look about 20 weeks....this is also my thrid and i have been shocked at how quickly this bump has established itself....mind you i SWEAR i felt some little flutterings the other day so i may be mental, have my dates completely wrong or like you be carrying more than one baby....scan monday will confirm the state of play....

ShowOfHands · 23/04/2009 07:46

I looked like that with my 1st! Only one, just had a bump early, probably bloating coupled with being skinny otherwise. It does settle down.

madmissy · 23/04/2009 09:24

i look the same! Seriously worried as only 8 wks ish! Been really self conscious last few days with warm weather and wearing vest tops. Im surprised no-one has noticed as im normally slim! Also very constipated/ windy which is adding to the bulge. im worried people at work will guess soon!

madmissy · 24/04/2009 20:23

Jeez-Louise. I thought I was just a giant heffer! I've even been eyeing up the maternity jeans lurking in my cupboard. I'm so glad I'm not alone. I'm not 5 weeks until tomorrow, this is crazy!

madmissy · 24/04/2009 20:30

HeadFairy · 24/04/2009 20:51

don't say that drlove... I had two mcs in four months earlier this year and I did have a random thought this morning... I wonder if it's twins to make up for the two I lost. I don't think it would be terrible but I think dh would faint away never to be resuscitated!

madmissy · 24/04/2009 20:53

how funny wld it be that we were the new wave of mners twins! all here moaning how big we are getting so quickly and theres two after all

OP posts:
HeadFairy · 24/04/2009 20:53

Madmissy, the likelihood of having twins comes from the female side of your family, it's more significant that your sisters are twins. Non identical twins are the product of two eggs being released, and that's genetic from your mother/grandmother. Identical twins are a random act of nature as it's one egg splitting to form two embryos.

HeadFairy · 24/04/2009 20:54

Would you necessarily be bigger early on with twins? I thought you'd have really strong morning sickness etc, but so far I've only had mild bouts of nausea.

madmissy · 24/04/2009 20:54

yep lots of research done i gave up it got to scary to read lol

Ended up helping SIL & dc do a midnight flit from her husband. I have thought of somewhere to look, will look tomorrow - promise!

madmissy · 24/04/2009 20:59

head fairy i asked mum all this lol.... she didnt have any more nausea with the girls than she did me..

i was very sick with previous dd's and not had it so far just have a constant feeling of dizziness and faintness which is horrible i cant drive with it as i cant judge things well my head kind of shakes but still thats better than being sick

Oh dear, that blows my theory out the water then. When I was pg with ds there was a woman at work who was pg with twins and she kept going on about how awful her ms was, so I assumed it was because of the twins. Guess not.

The irritating thing is I think I've actually lost a bit of weight as I've been pegging back on the chocolate and crap after Easter but it doesn't show because I've got a belly like someone who's 6 months gone!

madmissy · 24/04/2009 21:03

lol everyone differnet i guess
i remember my mum being huge and there are pics of her looking very fed up.
