I think at 6 weeks they count themselves lucky to see ANYTHING! and a heartbeat is also not guaranteed at that stage so that should be some reassurance I hope- Please try not to worry if you can possibly avoid it (next to impossible I know). But think about it at 6 weeks its only 4 weeks since your little 1 was just an egg and a sperm making their way to each other.

I agree. My OB didn't do a scan until 8 weeks as it is so hard to see anything beforehand.

I was in the same situation. Had to go back for another scan as first scan only showed the sac. I didn't view it as a reason to be worried, only that I was earlier in pregnancy than I had estimated.

The next scan was much more informative, they were able to measure and calculate due date.

Try not to worry!

Think how tiny and small the baby is and all soft, its soooo tricky to measure. The weeny heart has only just started pumping too. I'm sure all will be fine when you go again. Try to stay calm and relaxed, Congratulations by the way. xx

We had an eight week scan and saw the heartbeat but no measurements. Getting a heartbeat is good news and they should be able to do measurements/dates next time... Good luck.

I had a scan at 6+4 and bean was tiny but flickered madly at us - they measure her at 2.8mm but said that was going to be inaccurate she was too small to be accurate as 2.8mm was between 4-5weeks. we went back at 9 weeks and she measured to dates and was a little alien looking bean!
