I am 19 weeks and itching to buy Stokke xplory but don't want to have anything 'bought' for baby yet as I am superstitious, however if you mumsnetters thinks its acceptable..........

My DH had a good point when we were pregnant and thinking of buying the pushchair - if something awful happened to the baby, you'd be a darned sight more upset about that than about having forked out on a pushchair...

Or: just get a sling for the first months - a lot cheaper!!

(BTW - we did get the pushchair before DD was born as it was in a sale with a car seat thrown in for free)

I bought everything when I was between 5 and 7 months pregnant because my SIL was so knackered in her 3rd trimester that she could barely move from the sofa. Also, some places - especially the discount places - have longer order times. It would be a pain to be stuck in the house for 4-6 weeks while you wait for your pushchair to be delivered. Even newborns get heavy and I hated wearing the papoose/sling.
Could you maybe order it and leave it in your parents house and that way it's not around? I know my friend did this because she was a bit superstitious.
