when should you buy nursing bras?

Hello, can anyone tell me when you should buy nursing bras? And should yu buy them so that they fit you at the time you buy them, or so that they are a little bit bigger? I feel really silly asking as its number 3 and I should know this! but I really can't remember what I did before!! Thanks in advance

I think in my case it would have been best to wait until late in the third trimester and buy cup-size bigger. I needed bra extenders at the time since my rib cage had expanded massively (I had twins!)

Does your rib-cage go down again?

My rib-cage has gone down by 4 inches in the 6 months since I bought my first nursing bra at 38wks pg! Buy one or two bras now to get you through the first month then get refitted as your underbust size will have gone down but your cup will likely be bigger.

Hi The best ime to get measured is 37/38wks pregnant, this will do for the first few weeks after the baby is born so don't buy lots (one or two will be enough) after about 12 weeks of bfeeding your body/boobs should be settling down and you may need to get measured again.

Um, hate to put a cat among it all, but just for a different perspective, I went up from an E to an H when my milk came in, and pretty much stayed there for about the first 3 months... so I ended up sitting in the fitting room at M'care 4 days postpartum feeling rubbish.

At least allow for the possibility that you might need to send someone out for a bigger size!

Buy them when you milk comes in. Guess cup size and get yur DH to get cheapy ones. My boobs went up 2-3 cup sizes for the first 3 months of feeding
