Abdominal pains week 23

Hi everyone. Was woken up last night by quite bad abdominal pains - they would subside for a little while, then get bad again. I found if I propped myself up on pillows and lay in a half-prone position, they got better, but when I moved into my regular 'recovery-position' they came back pretty promptly. Through the night, I could feel the baby moving, but today I'm worried because I haven't felt anything. The pain was quite high - not in the pelvic region.
The pain is pretty much gone today, although my stomach doesn't feel 100% 'normal' - saying that though, I often have a weird feeling stomach.
Has anyone had bad abdominal pain in yheir second trimester? Should I be very worried? If I don't feel any movement by later in the afternoon I'm going to call midwife (despite my reticence to 'bother' anyone. MUST get over that...)

Hmm I had similar 'waves' of pain in my first pregnancy at about 18 weeks, not near the baby but terrified me. It was so bad I rushed myself to A&E (never unwilling to bother anyone myself) and it was a UTI. The pain stopped and then restarted again. Please don't be very worried - it's very unlikely to be baby related and more likely to be bowel/bladder related - but get it checked out cos ot's bad to have UTIs in pregnancy.

Thanks for replying. Had a mild UTI a couple of months ago (they put me on anti-biotics) so that would be bad luck if it was another one. Didn't have any symptoms for last one.

I do think you should call midwife whether baby moves or not, just to rule it out.
