Im 10 weeks pg and really short of breath, its so bad that people are noticing if Im walking with them or telling them something thats not just one sentence.
I also noticed last night when I was reading to ds that I was out of breath just reading him a story.

I know I have low HB, and maybe even lower now pg, but surely it shouldnt be this bad. Im so worried that its something awful

Hi mosschops - I hope not because I had this too! I'm now 15 weeks and it's got a lot better over the last few weeks, but I found it was really bad between about weeks 7 and 11.

I talked about it with a vet friend who's pregnant with her second and she thought it could be related to the increased amounts of blood being pumped around the body. Baby gets first dibs on your oxygen supply and doesn't always leave enough for you.

Maybe see your GP/MW if it's not better in 4 weeks?

Low iron did that to me! Get the to a gP and on to the iron tabs! (Or to boots for some spatone) I wish I had started to take them earlier as I feel my pregnancy would have felt a lot easier (Esp the second trimester as I missed out on the whole "Blooming" thing in its entirety!)

great thanks for the advice .
I take spatone anyway (and thats just to keep my Hb at about 10-11) but have upped it to twice a day this week to see if it helps.

I went to the GP who was useless as usual and suggested a blood test, I told him Id get it done in work and get the results myself. I just cant believe that low iron can make you feel this bad, but like you both say it obviously can.
Dont fancy the iron tablet route as they make me soooo constipated
