Test to indicate 'early onset of labour'

I asked my consultant today about the viability of travel at 35weeks PG, as I'm feeling very dubious about flying that far gone (only short haul, but still!)

He said I should be fine - my previous PG was trouble free and this one (25 weeks so far) is also trouble free. He said that he'd have no problem giving me a certificate to fly and that, if I was worried, there was a test I could take (internal exam) to see if my bosy was about to go into labour pre-term...

does anyone know about this? I've never heard about it and can't seem to find anything about it?

My gut feeling is, as I'm already concerned about travelling, I shouldn't - it's only for a break, not essential travel, so I'm thinking better to cancel...

But any advice / information would be gratefully received!
