What is getting you through these early weeks? I was wondering as some of things that have been good for me have been suggested by friends and I wouldn't necessarily have thought of trying them.

  1. Lucozade (for when nothing else is possible).
  2. French Fries crisps
  3. Watermelon (in slices or juiced as a drink).
  4. Yoghurt coated raisins.
  5. Ready to eat dried mango slices.

Anyone else care to share their guilty secrets ?

"Mini-Cheddars"

YanknCock · 15/04/2009 19:55
  1. Peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches
  2. Saltine crackers (not widely available here, but lived on them while on honeymoon in U.S. during early weeks)
  3. Fast food french fries
  4. American Kraft macaroni & cheese
  5. Milk (could not get enough of it)

Basically I turned back the clock about 25 years and ate stuff I loved as a kid.

funtimewincies · 15/04/2009 20:00

Ooh, now I quite fancy some mini cheddars! Feeling so dehydrated too, with not eating as usual. I drank a pint before a scan this week and only wee'd a fraction of that out .

DH is pressing me to eat dinner, but I feel sick when I go in the kitchen and there's nothing good in there anyway. Want french fries. Harumph.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 15/04/2009 20:09
  1. Chopped up fruit and yoghurt mixed together, preferably with banana in it. Some days, that is all I can eat.
  2. Banana and strawberry smoothie - freshly made
  3. chuppa chups
  4. Haribo
5.Nato Pasta (as DH calls it. I have to have it exact - fried chopped onion, red peppers sliced thinly, tin of tomatoes, simmered with herbs for 10-15 mins, dollop of pesto, mixed with rigatoni or conchiggli and covered with cheese which has to be melted).

To drink, all I can drink is sparkling water and fruit juice together, or hot blackcurrent rocks squash.

erm ... can't think of anything else I could actually eat for the first 16 weeks of both my pregnancies. I lost more weight in those four months than I ever have before or since .

Just going into a supermarket was an ordeal!

My sympathies to all those who are suffering!

SlightlyMadStirrup · 15/04/2009 23:55

Boiled sweets (fruit) kept mine at bay. And strong Tea

funtimewincies · 16/04/2009 10:09

Some good ideas, sounds like crisps are popular.

Today I will mostly be trying mint imperials, just to get rid of that 'hamster making itself comfy on your tongue' taste. Ewww.

7+4 and feeling like I will be sick forever [bsad].
