Has anyone had an ovarian cyst in early pregnancy? If so did it cause any type of complications? Thanks in advance for any replies

Thankyou bamboo My daughter is 10 weeks and has had 4 previous m/c. I now am so paranoid it is total consuming my thoughts. She has her weekly scan yesterday showing a large cyst. Dr was unconcerned but she is having abdo pain today only on one side. She also has been spotting on and off for the last few weeks and I wonder if this is why.

I had one they saw on my first scan, but it disappeared on it's own at some point. Think it had gone by a later scan as I seem to remember the tried to see.

Sometimes these disappear by themselves. I had to have mine removed under GA when dd was 9 months.

I have one. It was spotted on my 7 week scan and I'm now nearly 19 weeks pregnant. It hasn't caused me any problems but the hospital are monitoring it when I have scans. The sonographer said it might cause me pain on that side (it's on the right) but it was nothing to worry about and would probably go on its own.
It's a good sign in early pregnancy because the cyst produces the hormones that keep the pregnancy going - according to my consultant.
I hope that makes you and your daughter feel better. You are a lovely mother, I wish mine was that concerned.

Yes, I have and was hospitalised twice once about 5 weeks and then again at 7 weeks as I was in agony. My consultant said the same thing: cyst produces the hormones that keep the pregnancy going.
Amazingly it disappeared after 3 months (couldn't find it on the scan) - but prior to that it was only 2cm big.

Hi, i had one early on, it was picked up when i had a scan at 10 weeks after i had a bleed, it caused a little bit of pain (like period pain) by the time i had my 20 week scan it had gone.

I was also told that it is a good sign and caused by hormone levels so nothing to worry about.
