I'm 21+5 today and am feeling stronger and stronger movements. I have noticed some very strong correlations between what I am doing / eating and when the baby kicks, and I was wondering what other people's babies like!

mine likes....

blood sugar rushes (like after eating sweets or chocolate)
warm baths
any time I lie down and relax
when I sing worship music

mine doesn't like....
when I do any exercise (i guess i'm using up all the blood sugar?)
when I am busy at work
being on public transport.

how about you?

I'm not sure if kicks equal likes, but my little one gets positively frisky after my 30 minute cycle into work and tends to move if I have a cold drink and also after eating my lunch. We're also getting reactions to my hubby's voice which is ace!

My baby loves me going to bed...little monkey...when I relax my muscles and start to drift she comes alive. Hope to god shes not a night owl!

Tee2072 · 14/04/2009 13:26

Mine likes hot baths as well. Also seems to like action film music, as goes nuts when DH watching a film like that!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 14/04/2009 13:31

im 39+3 now and baby gets excited over everything!! but at about 20-25 weeks he seemed to move more the more relaxed i was, probably just because you feel it more when you are relaxed but warm baths and sitting up in bed on laptop at night really got him kicking also sound of DPs voice always had an effect on him, and still does

roseability · 14/04/2009 13:32

Mine likes sugar and chocolate and when my DS strokes and rests his cheek on the bump.

She also likes it when I relax and when I prod her feet!

Beetroot · 14/04/2009 13:33

Mine used to love shopping

staylucky · 14/04/2009 13:37

Who knows?

I get really stuck when people say "how's bump" I don't know, he's inside my womb I can't see him or ask him!?

MichaelaS · 14/04/2009 14:23

we should do a poll to see if they like the same things inside as outside... so will tees baby be a film junkie, beetroots be a shopping king/queen, and roseabilitys be a perfect sibling?

know what you mean staylucky, not sure how we're supposed to tell if they are happy or not, i'm jsut going by the kicks and assuming kicks = good (and not, as my friend and I were just discussing, = get out the bath i'm boiling up in here)

Hi

If kicks mean he likes something it must be my singing - when I come home at night in the car I sing to the radio - he particularly likes anything with a really good beat.

The first time I felt him move was driving home at night and singing to Spandau Ballet Gold at a loud volume. (I travel down country lanes so the only other things I bother are cows, sheep and horses!!!)

On the other hand a good kicking could mean shut up...

pooka · 14/04/2009 14:31

LIkes sugar. A lot.

pooka · 14/04/2009 14:32

Actually, may hate it. Might be protest kicks.

cikecaka · 14/04/2009 14:34

DD3 used to like when I watched my DVD of Take That in concert, she also loved baths, not so keen on them now lol

Beetroot · 14/04/2009 14:40

a baby kicks when you have caffine - nothing to do with liking it or not.

They do't come out of the womb with a taste for cafifine

everGreensleeves · 14/04/2009 14:41

ds2 used to wake up and jiggle whenever I farted

Beetroot · 14/04/2009 14:43

oh an d vodka

loved vodka

pooka · 14/04/2009 14:45

Well whether they had the taste for caffeine or not after being born, I certainly did.

Beetroot · 14/04/2009 14:47

yes me too and vodka

My unborn baby loved it when I bought expensive shoes

HelleborePelargoniaThunderclap · 14/04/2009 14:53

Who were the shoes for, you or the baby?

Because you shouldn't put an unborn baby in shoes, everyone knows that.

Beetroot · 14/04/2009 14:54

do they?
oh but my baby said it loved the prada ones that matched mine

HelleborePelargoniaThunderclap · 14/04/2009 14:56

Two kicks for yes,
One kick for no?

Beetroot · 14/04/2009 14:57

yes - the universal language
isn't it called UBSL? or something?

HelleborePelargoniaThunderclap · 14/04/2009 15:01

Oh I read about that - is it the theory about the way they turn meaning sadness/joy etc, clockwise/anti-clockwise and so on?

pooka · 14/04/2009 15:05

Mine was very happy when I did as little as possible.

Funnily enough, all of them have been incredibly happy whenever I've suited myself and done as I pleased. They've loved all the things I love. We are as one.
