Morning sickess question

After a mmc at the beginning of the year i am currently 5 weeks pregnant and very nervous. Yesterday i started to feel really sick for the first time and also had awful bloating and indigestion. Iwas really relieved that morning sickess was starting as i never had any last time. Today i woke up and am feeling fine, no nausea, no bloating, nothing. So i was just wondering whether this is normal. Does morning sickness start as full blown morning sickness or is it usual to start with occasional days feeling a bit off?

Completely normal. Not everyone gets MS, for one thing. And its not necessarily the same every day.

I agree with Tee - morning sickness varies from day to day, person to person. For example, I have had sickness every day for a week, then this last week I felt much much better, some days nothing, but no actual sickness at all. Then yesterday I threw up twice, and today I feel fine.

I know it is hard not to panic, but it is normal, and you might not get proper sickness at all which is also fine.

Totally normal.
In my first pregnancy I was not queasy at all (those were the days). This time I have felt sick on and off since 5 weeks (am now 12 weeks). Some days I feel fine, and others I can barely open the fridge without feeling like death. It definitely peaked at around 7-9 weeks but I should say I have never actually vomited from it. It seems to vary a lot.

Mine starting with an incredibly surprising vomming episode at 6 weeks (don't take pregnacare with diet coke on an empty stomach!). After that, nothing for a while. Then the occasional off day. Then just nausea for a few weeks. Then lots of vomiting around weeks 10-17. Of course everyone insisted on saying, 'oh it will get better once you hit the 2nd trimester!'. For me it actually got worse. I posted on here about it, and apparently it's not an unusual experience.

Still vomiting every 2-3 days at 20 weeks. But now mostly in the morning before food.

I am also finding it varies enormously each day. Today has been bad, and I knew from the second I opened my eyes I would have to race to the toilet, but yesterday I was fine all day, just tired. It really does vary. I'm 8 and a half weeks.
Sorry to hear of your MMC, Fairy.

YanknCock · 14/04/2009 16:04

god I know those days, Katster! It's so weird how you open your eyes and just KNOW it's coming at some point in the day.
