I am 15 wks pregnant now and sometimes I experience a sharp pain in abdominal on right side when sneezing or turning over. It worries me a bit, can anyone recognise this or comment on this. I also regularly suffer from yeast infection. Any good tips on how to treat this are very welcome.
For the rest pregnancy is going well. The last 12 wk scan my baby was looking healthy, so I try not to worry too much and enjoy this wonderful time . Happy easter.

If it happens suddenly when you sneeze or turn over, then goes away or subsides fairly quickly, it is most likely from stretching the ligaments on that side that support the uterus. Many women will notice it as well if they get up from a sitting position too quickly.
If you think it might be due to this, try to move more slowly, and you might find it helps to splint the area prior to a sneeze. See if it makes any difference.
It usually doesn't last, but you may notice it every now and then.

Hi merea, It sounds like it could be your ligaments, they can become quite tender in pregnancy.

I am currently 10 weeks and recently had a bad cough. I found I really had to hold myself when coughing to stop my lower abdominals from really hurting.

I'm not too sure about the yeast infection - I have heard that excess sugar in the diet can be a cause though.

i used to get this throughout pg - sometimes i thought i had given myself a hernia! all ok though, echo advice to grab bits of you if you feel a sneeze coming on which seems to help.

babies eh? who'd have 'em?
