Hi,

First baby - can anyone provide some help in selecting a matress for our cotbed?

Where do we start?!! There are so many products to choose from, what criteria should we be looking for? We don't mind spending extra to get a safe and comfortable matress. Any help would be appreciated as we're totally bamboozled!

Thanks.

It's been a while since I bought mine but I would say go for a sprung one rather thans foam as they need the extra support if they are still in it at 4/5.
I got mine from toys r us which was the cheapest at the time about £50
this one Its gone up a bit though in 4 years . Says out of stock but you often find the store still has them.

thanks. Stupid question, but are they all waterproof or do we buy waterproof covers?

Got mine from mothercare, sprung with a zip off cover that controls the heat and soaks up any of the lovely fluids that baby might produce in the night! It was about £120 but gave me total peace of mind. Bought the same thing for my moses basket for about £20. The best thing is being able to wash that top layer. Happy shopping!
