How would you know you are pregnant if your periods had not returned yet ?

My baby is 6 month old and my periods are yet to return, we are still breastfeeding If we fell pregnant again how would we know for sure. Would you get symptoms as normal, when would you have to test, or is it a waiting game ?

You would likely get symptoms as normal, but since a missed period is often the first one for many women, you would likely be farther along before you found out.

It really would be a waiting game....just seeing if you happen to notice anything out of the ordinary that could be attributed to a possible pregnancy.

Are you hoping to be pregnant soon? You may find periods resume once baby drops some more feedings/sleeps longer stretches at night. Some women will continue without a period well after this however. It is very individual.

Not trying but not preventing either and I know breastfeeding doesn't prevent pregnancy after 6 months so I just wondered really.

I knew I was pg before my period as I starting throwing up and went off coffee and wine, and everything started to really smell, I tested 1 day before period was due, which was 3 weeks after conception. I think 3 weeks after the deed so to speak could give you a positive test.

If you aren't actively taking steps to avoid pregnancy then you are trying imo. Are you sure about that - because if you aren't then you really need to take measures.
