Pregnancy

Talk about every stage of pregnancy, from early symptoms to preparing for birth.

Please allow me a little whinge and a sigh - Why, oh why, do people feel the need to comment constantly on how large I look?

I am 25 weeks pregnant with DC 3, and this week have had:

"Ooooh, not long to go now eh?"
"Wow, any day now!"
"How on earth will you last until July?"
"You look ready to pop - are you really only 25 weeks?"

I know, people are just clueless and tactless, but its just annoying and awkward and I wish people would keep their thoughts to themselves.

Okay, I can see how it is annoying - as in 'how many times can you listen to the same comments over and over etc';can't imagine feeling insulted though. Think I liked attracting the attention far too much! .

I'm 35 weeks with twins (and huge, obviously). Have been enjoying myself immensely for weeks now - when people say 'Oh you can't have long to go now' I say with completely straight face - oh about 6 weeks actually (or whatever is the relevant length of time at the time) and just wait for the look of horror on their faces. Sometimes I explain it's twins, but not always...

sigh
The only thing that it is EVER acceptable to say to a pregnant lady is "oh you look FABULOUS". Nothing else. Ever. Partly cos it's true but also because anything else can be hormonally overanalysed and massively misconstrued!
But mostly cos it's true

I am 24 weeks with DC3 and have always had innappropriate comments about the size of my bump. However this time I am really sensitive and totally fed up with it.My mother is the worst offender, after each scan she comments about how big the baby must be due to my size ( baby is normal size)
The other day she noted that I had alot of maternity clothes , I replied that I dont where most of them ( as most of them are washed out or really hideous) she said " Oh I suppose there all too tight" Ohhhh my patience is thin....
Why cant people (especailly my mother) just be happy that the baby is healthy, so far so good.
