heyah im 14 and tink im pregnant, iv taken a pregnancy test but it came up negative, but the thing is i havent had my periods in 3 months and my and my ex had sex all the time and never used a condom or the pill, i do smoke is there any chance that im not preg an my periods are just fucked up because of smoking ?

If you haven't had your period in three months and the pregnancy test is negative then I would say you definitely aren't pregnant. In which case, I would be very concerned that your periods have stopped and go see the doctor.

your periods will not be messed up if you are a smoker

are your periods usually regular?

you do know it is very foolish to have unprotected sex for two reasons, firstly risk of pregnancy and secondly, risk of STIs

you are far too young at 14 , not in an established relationship to be taking such risks

ok, lecture over

your period might be late for other reasons

stress/worry

low BMI

did you follow the instructions on the test? did you use the first wee of te day and read the test within the allotted time?

if so, the first thing you should do is presume the test is right and then you should get to the doctors, because if your periods are usually regular and have stopped, that needs investigating

when did you do the test?

if you are worried I think you should book an appontment with your GP and ask for a blood test. In the meantime get a clearblue test and test again.

Are you underweight? This could be the rason your periods might stop. How regular are you otherwise?

coz i was to scared to take it :/ and no there normally regular and i know im to young and i know i was stupid no no i took it during the day at like 5 wen i got home from work and i took the test on thursday at 6 ish, i know i am booking an apointment but i have work most days so i need to wait till sunday wil it be open then no im not underweight and i am always very regular they come at the middle of every month all the time but they have stopped and i havent had them in 3 months ...

can you take another test? they re usually very accurate

also have you any other symptoms? swollen breasts, sickness, finding that things smell very strong? do you feel pregnant?

sorry, not sure i understand? what did you take at 5 and what did you take at 6?

can you get to the shops and get another test?

i would go to the doctors as soon as possible

you might be pregnant and the test just not picking it up, whihc can happen.

but it might be the stress is making you anxious which can stop your periods

do you have any other symptoms of pregnancy?

i will take another one tomorrow after work and do u have to take them first pee in the morning or at any time ? no not really just down and sick , and i took the preg test at 5 and 6 :/ ye ill get another one tomorrow after work the only time i can go is sunday
ye i know okay but i never thought of any of this until the other day wen my ex asked if i had came on yet coz he was worrying but iv not been on in 3 months no just feeling sick and tyred ...

Lulu - I think she means the test, i.e she did them in the evening.

Try not to worry. If you are, do you have family you can talk to?

ehm, well feeling sick and tired is deffo a sign of pregnancy I'm afraid. We don't understand what you mean by saying that you took the test at five and six?

It doesn't really matter what time you do it now- especially if you are three months late. Just wee on the end of the stick and wait two minutes and it will tell you if you are or are not.

Is there anyone you can talk to about this in real life?

i think you should see your doctor, and agree with beanie that you should try to talk to your family if possible

the stress might be making oyu feel sick and anxious

did you wee on the stick and then read it within the time stated? that is pretty much all you need to do, it is hard to do it wrong

Best to see your GP, lots of reasons why periods can stop, including pregnancy. Do another test with first morning urine.

yes i did we on it then read it i dus to and they both sed negative and no i cant tell my mum :/ and my mum and dad split so its just me and mum but i have told my 2 close friends but they dont know much on how to help they just sed theyl be there 4 me and um to the docs with me and i work full time through the hols and am at school every other day and i work full time because my granda owns the shop and i work for him

there are lots of other things it could be. How long have you had your periods for? sometimes in the first few months they can be irregular. Also, hormone imbalances and stress can cause them to stop. Do you have any other symptoms of pregnancy? if you haven't had a period for 3 months then you would probably be getting some signs. When was the last time you had unprotected sex?

It shouldn't make a difference what time of day you do the test.

FWIW my periods were erratic until I was about 27. I've gone 3 months a few times tbh and never really worried about it!

perhaps there is something else the matter - it is very important that you go to the doctors and get checked out. Is there anyone who can give you some support? older sister or auntie or mum? you shouldn't be worrying about this on your own.

please stop having unprotected sex

it is really important for your sexual health

not least you could ge t pregnant

not having regular periods could mean you are not ovulating reguarly, but you could well have ovulated, had unprotected sex last week and got pregnant then, in which case a HPT would be negative now, but not in a week or so

you must see yuor doc for contraception, the Pill is free and so are condoms from family planning.

you should have a sexual health screening

STIs such as clamydia could lead to infertilty later in life

you really need to take responsibility , you are acting 'grown up' in having sex, so do the grown up thing and protect yourself
