there is a huge backlog bcause they weren't paying out for anyone befre April 1st,.

Tee2072 · 05/04/2009 17:12

The paperwork says to ring if you haven't hears within a month of sending it in.

HappyChildminderBerkshire · 05/04/2009 17:30

The automated message on the helpline says no payments until May.

LB12 have you looked into Sure Start Grant? Its £500 if you're on a low income.

mosschops30 · 06/04/2009 11:54

when are you due logan?

I dont think they wanted applications before 1st April

mum09 · 06/04/2009 13:59

Hi, i have rang the helpline and there is a really big back log as they have only started processing forms today. I am due the 8th of May and they have told me i will probably recieve by the end of may beginning of june, so it isnt really a 'health in pregnancy' grant.

brettgirl2 · 06/04/2009 14:10

Did they tell you which year Mum 09?

The whole thing is an absolute farce. I'm due on Sunday (so just qualify) and am not excited about receiving it anytime soon.

I mean how hard can it be to send out a few forms to MWs and then put them into a computer?

Mhairi100 · 06/04/2009 14:25

Hmm, won't be expecting this any time soon then! I'm due 30 May and sent the paperwork in ages ago. Definitely a Health After Pregnancy Grant! Hope those of you due imminently get your grant soon

mum09 · 07/04/2009 16:29

Forms are being processed in claim order.. as people have been claiming from Jan they will recieve theres first then Feb and so on.. People who claimed in Jan should recieve mid May and it goes from there. The woman i spoke to realy didnt seem to sure though, she was putting me on hold every two seconds and just told me to be patient

littleM · 17/04/2009 12:26

I checked my bank account this morning and the grant had gone in yesterday - I had applied in February so looks like they have started working through the backlog. Due in 5 days so will rush around like a crazy fool to spend it on things to ensure I have a healthy pregnancy!!

mumjuly09 · 05/05/2009 10:17

I am due in july o9 i was just wondering how long will the grant take to come through i sent the form off at the start of april and i am really low on money, i got hardly anything for the baby and i am really begining to struggle trying to make ends meet

sarahken · 05/05/2009 22:25

I'm still waiting for mine. I sent my form off on 4th March and I'm due the 16th May. I phoned today as I've heard nothing-they said it should go in withing the next ten days, so I may have had baby before I get the grant.

I wouldn't hold your breathe on getting it anytime soon, but on the otherhand it seems some people are getting it within 2 weeks of sending off the form, yet those who did it ages ago and are due really soon are having to wait- madness

MischiefMum · 20/05/2009 14:37

I applied for my HIP grant at the beginning of April and received a letter on 13 May to say that the midwife had signed the form before I was 25 weeks pregnant - which is absolute rubbish. I was 27 weeks plus when she signed it. My baby is due on 8 June and it looks like I won't have the issue resolved until after the birth. Decision is currently with their Head Office. Not the sort of stress that is needed when you are 37+ weeks pregnant. (They insist my baby is due in August because of their computer error - and won't be persuaded otherwise).

DawnAS · 20/05/2009 14:59

I submitted my form on 8th April and received my payment two weeks ago. They are getting through them, but slowly...

heartmoonshadow · 20/05/2009 14:59

Hi,

I have had the same thing - midwife signed at 25 plus 1 - the idiots there cannot read and said I am not eligible. It wasn't until I pointed out that they believed my midwife was so dedicated that she worked the surgery on a Sunday not the Wednesday it actually was that they caved in, still I have had to call back three times to push for a decision. I have been 'authorised' today and told it will be 6 to 8 weeks for payment - hope the baby doesn't come early as I am now 31 plus 1!!!

heartmoonshadow · 27/05/2009 09:33

Hurrah

I have had the payment today so off to buy wome more fruit and veg - not!!!! To be honest ever since I got pregnant I have wanted loads of veg and salad stuff so it has been going in as a matter of course anyway. Still I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

elliekate77 · 30/06/2009 14:43

Has anyone had their Health in Pregnancy Grant form go to head office for a decision? and if so do you know how long it takes to process?

Bascially my MW forgot to put the year my baby was due in the box just the day and month so they have referred it to Head office!! It doesnt take a monkey to to work out that the baby is due in 2009!!!

I have spoken to them and they are unable to give me any timescales! my form has been with them for 4 weeks!

Any comments appreciated

Many thanks
Ellen

Hi, i put in my health and pregnancy grant on thursday and was wondering how long it takes in South Wales for it to come through!

Thank You
xx

meemarsgotabrandnewbump · 23/09/2009 13:10

Hi steph, they are all processed centrally so it shouldn't matter where you live in relation to how long it takes.

I think the process is very fast at the moment. I sent mine off and got the money within 2 weeks. That was despite me forgetting to put my NI number on the form in a moment of pregnancy amnesia.

lucky1979 · 23/09/2009 13:12

I sent mine off and had the money in my account a week later so think they're pretty quick now

amy1994 · 21/04/2010 17:14

i sent my 'health in pregnancy grant' form about a month ago and i still haven't heard anything from anyone and i may need the money soon, does anybody know how long it actually takes to get transferred in to your bank account? im fed up of waiting. why does it take so long? they must have received it ages ago! :@ annoying people..

CherryPie3 · 21/04/2010 17:31

I got my form last week and was told the backlog had been sorted and money was only taking a couple of weeks to be transferred into your chosen account. Haven't sent my forms in yet so haven't got first-hand experience I'm afraid.

This thread is a year old so I would hope they had sorted the original backlog by now
